    change the tour page
Can the administrators please change the two Furthur "On Tour" pages? This tour is loooong finished and the band is on a break from, what, its second tour since this one ended. It would be good to have a current Furthur "On Tour" page rather than a very outdated one. Thanks for considering.

Can anyone enlighten me on how the presale works and whether to go that route or GDTS? I'm looking for 2 tix to Barton Hall and possibly to Buffalo. I seem to remember a bit of stress during spring tour about ppl not receiving tix until very close to showtime...

25 shows on the East Coast and 1 ONLY ONE ON THE WEST COAST!?!?!?!? (3 if you count New Years's) What is going on with the f*&^ed up balance in these tours... 25 vs. 3????? that just looks too silly on paper.....

My mail order envelope is all ready to go! After listening to the Fox Theatre recordings i'm super stoked for this tour. No rip on Warren, but John's been playing this music night after night for years and he knows it like the back of his hand.

Tickets at almost all venues for The Dead were going less then face value.Demand is much higher for Furthur. Still, they are playing large venues. I would bet that tickets for the larger shows will be easy, while tix for the smaller halls, such as Shea's, will be sold out. ~ Lord the band kept us so busy ~

FYI- IT'S ALL ABOUT THE $$$ Further doesn't care about DeadHeads east or west. They are interested in ticket sales only. Not the music, and certainly not the fans. I am personally insulted that DSO's FAKE JERRY impersonator is in the most sacred position in the band. And where is the other half of the band? I guess you get to old and out of touch with authenticity or just plane bad taste! On November 27th, 2009 johnnyhub said: 25 shows on the East Coast and 1 ONLY ONE ON THE WEST COAST!?!?!?!? This just happens to be the home of the Grateful Dead Members and Its' Fans. Reguardless- if it's a internet home or not. If you are not EXCITED about this band, it's members, fans and family. There's the door, one click away! This is a place for people THAT are interested, are excited, are ready for more of the wonderful WALSTIB that lead us here. This is not bathroom incase your lost, take your shit somewhere else. Um...have I made myself clear??? Welcome to the thread titled...Furthur Winter 2010 Tour Announced. Please have some respect for other people's internet homes. This thread to me reads. Hey now...we gotta plan. How about everybody come over to the great venues we got and let's all get together and have so much fun, it'll steal your face right off your head! We love you all and know we all still need each other and the wonderful times we find when we all are there. (ie Philly 5/09) Now, I am going Furthur and if you aren't--- HERE IS NOT THE PLACE FOR YOU! And if for two seconds you think I am going to believe the people in this band don't care about me (aka east coasters), your freaking nuts! My grandmother would be scraping that soap on your teeth to clean the bullshit out of your mouth for ya. Alright, I still love you as I love lovingkindness for everyone...Ignorance and the 28th day is what makes me type this. And be well while your there (where ever else you go) and eat right and sweet dreams xoxoxo. Signed smiling, SherBear

SherBear, You are always so sweet and positive. I hear what you are saying to this person and, though it really needs to be said, it's so out of character for you. Don't encourage these types. It only makes them prattle on endlessly, needlessly. The really interesting thing, I think, is that Bob and Phil, pushing 70, are still willing to go out there and playing these songs for us. Still trying to make it interesting. This tour has so many venues they have played before it definitely feels like time-tripping. I don't think money is the main point at all, at least for Bob & Phil. As for the tour being unbalanced, I don't believe they are finished scheduling yet and even if they are, so what? If you're a big enough fan then do a road trip. As I recall, they used to be a lof of fun. Living where I live it is easy for me to say that. DSO plays a small venue three miles from my house tomorrow night. Wallingford is a three hour ride. Three Furthur shows this winter are close enough. If there are DHs out there scraping pennies and a long way from the nearest show it's a bummer but keep smiling and make a plan. You'll make it. And after the first song you'll be glad you put in the effort! ~ We forgot about the time ~

IMO the boyz screwd the pooch on this one. Why not leave the line up the way it was for the summer tour? WH kicked ass and was just hitting his stride at the end. I would have traveled far and wide for a winter tour with the core four and warren and jeff. now, eh not likely. I take that back, not ever. Spencer

Bring back WH and the core four and I'll get to Timbuktu for that line up! The core four have the magic. This past Spring tour was just a tease. Otherwise,. it's just Phil & friends + Ratdog +Jerry mimic= ??? Strange, bluesun1964

I can't agree with bluesun1964's post. While the Shoreline experience in May was as sweet as it could be, a powerful, joyful event, for my personal taste the two shows I caught at the Fox Oakland were the more enjoyable to me because I like to dance and the music was delivered in a more up-tempo style. The Saturday night had an incredible version of I Know You Rider, for instance. Same great dish, slightly different seasonings...when has it ever been any different?

I love Warren and I have been to the Christmas Jam, but I don't see how anyone can listen to the further tapes (IE: The Fox run) and not be psyched for this tour. Especially with the small venues and low (relatively) ticket prices. Peace to all, and I'll see you on the road.

Just go to archive and listen to The Dead and listen to Furthur. I really don't know how anyone would want another TD tour. Mickey & Bill are tired of playing Dead songs. Can you blame them? It must get awful boring being dual drummers for some of the slower songs they play. They SHOULD go out and do their own thing. It proves they are great musicians who want to use their talents to the fullest. If you have to write criticism in this thread under a pseudonym, you just might as well hang it up.

Sounds like fun, gonna miss Billy and Mickey, I mean, they are the rhythm devils. I can understand why they don't want to beat up dead songs anymore, but without them, it's not a whole lot furthur. Just a dead cover band with two original members. I may be premature in my analysis, I have never seen or heard John K. before, and he may surprise me. I think I will still go to the show, if it don't sell out too fast, which seems to be the case so far. I want to see "the" tour with all dead alumni involved, the core four, plus Bruce and Donna Jean, plus Mark and Steve and Warren all on stage together, I hope they do this before it's too late. One more big tour with everyone, that's my wish for the next decade. It would proubly take a miracle but, miracles happen and ..... I need a miracle every day.........

well I was totally wrong about demand for Chicago, seems pretty soft in the presale. I guess they did the right thing by playing a much smaller venue and reducing the ticket prices in relation to The Dead shows last year.

This is the ultimate insult to the best Grateful Dead playing lead guitarist alive...Having seen 250 GD shows with Garcia and more than that with JK and DSO, he deserves whatever he gets..Truth be told, I'd rather see him stay with DSO but am happy for him if this is what he wants. Phil HAND picked John to play with them....It is hard to believe that folks are that intimidated by a guy who loves the music as much as WE do...Thanks John as I look forward to seeing you perform with Furthur in Asbury.

Let me make it clear that I was making fun of the folks that are calling him "Fake Jerry". I have seen DSO and I think John makes a fine addition to the lineup. Also, he has been playing these tunes long enough that he feels comfortable taking certain liberties that Warren cannot because Warren is a kind enough sole to not want to rustle any feathers by embelishing on Jerry's gifts. John is a fine musician on his own and I am excited to see what he brings to this new mix. Lets take this bus Furthur! Peace - David

Just ordered tickets - looking forward to the show! Recently saw DSO for the first time, and we really enjoyed them. Since "Real Jerry" isn't an option, I'll keep a positive attitude about the alternatives :)

... yeah, with GDleads John K. stands out. But, it's like the analogy of people who like licorice. Jerry put the black in licorice. Which is to say: Jerry was the licoriciousness. I love this tour's venue list in the wake -- let us hope they leave some furroughs ~ On my hands and my knees, I will roll, roll roll ~

So a summer tour with a bunch of nights at Red Rocks sounds good to me. I need some shows on my home turf.
