Hey All, I have recently relocated to Lubbock, Texas and am looking for people to jam with, particularly on acoustics. Don't know a lot of The Repertoire, but willing to improv, learn and have fun. Anybody out here in the panhandle feel like jammin???

    Europe 72 complete box set
Anyone know where I can get this baby! Besides for the pirate prices on Amazon. $950. Yikes! I'm so upset I missed it. I'm on top of all emails from dead.net and that ONE day that ONE email went to spam and I saw it too late. No other dead.net emails have gone to spam. Must be a hint from the universe telling me not to spend that kind of dough on music! Don't I have enough Dead?! Ha! If I do get it, I want the whole box, not just the CD's. Unless the CD only set goes down in price some day. It's just not right to charge the same amount as the folks who were lucky enough to get the box set. UNFAIR! No matter how fair a deal the $450 is for so many CD's, the whole set has that AND a lot more stuff. So they should simply NOT be the same price. :P

Hey was wondering if anybody knew of any versions of Mexicali Blues longer than the 3-4 minutes the song usually runs...I swear I heard a 10-15 minute version on the radio about 4 years past and am dying to find it again...although I'm not actually sure if it exists :-/ Cheers!

Go to Furthur.net, click on Furthur Announces West Coast Tour, click on Monterrey Fair Grounds, click on Directions. Just a reminder, The Dead toured in 03 & 09. This band contains Weir & Lesh, Kadlicek (From Dark Star Orchestra) on lead & Chimenti on keyboards, Russo & Lane on drums & backup singers. The play mostly Grateful Dead songs. The Dead are buried and the crypt is sealed. Thank God! No more vampires & zombies around... See you at the show! ~ Wherever you go, there you are ~ (Buckaroo Bonzai)

I'm working on a project where I want to attempt to archive Grateful Dead bootleg lot shirts. I would like to create a print publication as well as a website celebrating the lot bootleg shirt. I would also like to document the stories and lore behind the shirts. I would love to hear any stories about anyone funding their tour by selling shirts, stories from shirt creators, any crazy Dead bootleg story (favorite shirt, shirts tha led to introductions, crazy adventures, etc... Feel free to send me any pictures, stories, ideas, suggestions, etc.. Thanks! Peace.

A long, long time ago, when we listened to tapes, a friend of mine had this great show from (I think) May 1978. Here is what (I think) I remember:
Terrapin > Sunrise > Estimated, which were mind-blowing. Probably Donna's best Sunrise; will bring you to tears.
I'm fairly sure that Terrapin went straight in to Sunrise. But I'm sure that Sunrise went straight in to Estimated. I don't think it was edited that way.
They were playing these tunes a lot at that time, but I've combed through the archives and just can't locate a show with this sequence; my memories may be at fault.

Thanks!

In Deadbase X, the lists for all 30 Sunrises:
5-12-77 Estimated>Sunrise>Terrapin
5-22-77 Good Lovin'>Sunrise>Estimated
1-11-78 Samson>Sunrise>Terrapin
4-11-78 Fire>Sunrise>Terrapin
That's all that have either an Estimated or a Terrapin on either side.
So maybe that 5-12-77?

Hey 1st Show!

Thanks for the assist; May 22 1977 is the one. Listening to it right now. You know what's wrong with that show? NOTHING! ;-) Many of the tunes played that night are easily top picks for me.

Does anyone have contact information for the photographer who was shooting family portraits at Laguna Seca in 1988? Today my daughter, who was three years old at those shows, mentioned that the post-show scene at those gigs is one of her earliest memories. I’d love to get a print of the photo that was taken by that photographer. Thanks!
