New Bands

I am looking for a nice pschedlic (sorry I know I am a bad speller) to go see. Looking for some suggestions on a nice psch show or a show with really kind people (seems all the show I go to now a days are filled with buttheads). Thanks for sharing some ideas.

I cant find anything except for Grateful dead playing at the Playboy mansion and hanging out with Hef in 1969,Could that be it?? There's is a video on you tube check it out. validate my ticket

this has bothered me for years now, i need substantiation please. does anyone ELSE remember the boys being on "hootn'anny" or "hee haw"or similar tv show, around workingman dead release playing "uncle johns band"? or how about some weird movie about a party, i think peter sellers and pia zoa(sp) were the stars, as the camera pans thru the door on thru the main room passing the live band playing, it pans the band members briefly and i swear my minds eye sees all the boys in late 60's glory and thats it, they're gone,pan to beach, no memory of the tune, pretty acidity stobes light show oil globs on walls. could of been around time they where living in lalaland, tring to pay the rent? validate me or flat out no way!i gots to know tc

Cosmicbadger, thanks, I found the Lost Sailor/Saint of Circumstance I was looking for. I should have known it was one of the shows in my own back yard, The Spectrum in Philadelphia. I used setlists.net, searched all 145 instances of Lost Sailor and picked the shows that looked familiar. According to setlists.net Sailor/Saint and Lazy Lightin/Supplication appeared in the same set three times only (but never consecutively) 05/06/80 Rec Hall (Penn State University) - State College, PA 05/08/80 Glenns Falls Civic Center - Glenns Falls, NY 07/01/80 San Diego Sports Arena - San Diego, CA suggest you go to Archive.org and check out which one you are thinking of. good luck

Trivia questions, who wrote that song, when was the last time the Dead played Deer Creek, etc.

I'm working on a project where I want to attempt to archive Grateful Dead bootleg lot shirts. I would like to create a print publication as well as a website celebrating the lot bootleg shirt. I would also like to document the stories and lore behind the shirts. I would love to hear any stories about anyone funding their tour by selling shirts, stories from shirt creators, any crazy Dead bootleg story (favorite shirt, shirts tha led to introductions, crazy adventures, etc... Feel free to send me any pictures, stories, ideas, suggestions, etc.. Thanks! Peace.

Looking for a certain 1978 show with Sunrise > Estimated

A long, long time ago, when we listened to tapes, a friend of mine had this great show from (I think) May 1978. Here is what (I think) I remember:
Terrapin > Sunrise > Estimated, which were mind-blowing. Probably Donna's best Sunrise; will bring you to tears.
I'm fairly sure that Terrapin went straight in to Sunrise. But I'm sure that Sunrise went straight in to Estimated. I don't think it was edited that way.
They were playing these tunes a lot at that time, but I've combed through the archives and just can't locate a show with this sequence; my memories may be at fault.

In Deadbase X, the lists for all 30 Sunrises:
5-12-77 Estimated>Sunrise>Terrapin
5-22-77 Good Lovin'>Sunrise>Estimated
1-11-78 Samson>Sunrise>Terrapin
4-11-78 Fire>Sunrise>Terrapin
That's all that have either an Estimated or a Terrapin on either side.
So maybe that 5-12-77?

Thanks for the assist; May 22 1977 is the one. Listening to it right now. You know what's wrong with that show? NOTHING! ;-) Many of the tunes played that night are easily top picks for me.

Does anyone have contact…

Does anyone have contact information for the photographer who was shooting family portraits at Laguna Seca in 1988? Today my daughter, who was three years old at those shows, mentioned that the post-show scene at those gigs is one of her earliest memories. I’d love to get a print of the photo that was taken by that photographer. Thanks!
