I am a big Robert Hunter fan and have never seen much of his bio in one place.Wish I could help you Louise. Hello Blair Jackson, this could be a companion to the Jerry bio. The other part of the incredible songwriting team. How about it? f the doors of perception were cleansed, everything would appear to man as it is, infinite. William Blake

Hello, I wouldn't exactly call my self a dead head, because I'm 17 and never went to a show (sadly) but I'm a huge fan. In my english class we are doing research papers on poets. I chose Robert Hunter, I'm have some problems with finding biographical information on him. Does anybody know of any accurate website or book with good information on him. I read what was on the site but i need things more like "Robert Hunter was born ____ and had 3 dogs and a hamster" any help would be very appreciated.

For the past few days I have not been able to log on to this site-it keeps telling me to download a certain software.I will look into all of the info you have written I live in Miami and saw the GD once in 1968 at Gulfstream pop festival I was in 14 and hated them-I was waiting for the Mothers and Jimi wish I would have sat next to the stage. And the road goes on forever.... BobbaLee

Hi Bob, after getting active on the eurotraders mailinglist yesterday (thanks for founding it), I asked about "IT" and within no time some happy mail bombing began. I got dizzy and then ordered Grayfolded, after checking about the difference to Greyfolded and although each average human will have no reason to label a one hours mix of Dark Star "IT", beause the base of one of the two Greyfolded discs has a title since the first GD live LP. andré

I'm working on a project where I want to attempt to archive Grateful Dead bootleg lot shirts. I would like to create a print publication as well as a website celebrating the lot bootleg shirt. I would also like to document the stories and lore behind the shirts. I would love to hear any stories about anyone funding their tour by selling shirts, stories from shirt creators, any crazy Dead bootleg story (favorite shirt, shirts tha led to introductions, crazy adventures, etc... Feel free to send me any pictures, stories, ideas, suggestions, etc.. Thanks! Peace.

A long, long time ago, when we listened to tapes, a friend of mine had this great show from (I think) May 1978. Here is what (I think) I remember:
Terrapin > Sunrise > Estimated, which were mind-blowing. Probably Donna's best Sunrise; will bring you to tears.
I'm fairly sure that Terrapin went straight in to Sunrise. But I'm sure that Sunrise went straight in to Estimated. I don't think it was edited that way.
They were playing these tunes a lot at that time, but I've combed through the archives and just can't locate a show with this sequence; my memories may be at fault.

Thanks!

In Deadbase X, the lists for all 30 Sunrises:
5-12-77 Estimated>Sunrise>Terrapin
5-22-77 Good Lovin'>Sunrise>Estimated
1-11-78 Samson>Sunrise>Terrapin
4-11-78 Fire>Sunrise>Terrapin
That's all that have either an Estimated or a Terrapin on either side.
So maybe that 5-12-77?
Cheers

Hey 1st Show!

Thanks for the assist; May 22 1977 is the one. Listening to it right now. You know what's wrong with that show? NOTHING! ;-) Many of the tunes played that night are easily top picks for me.

Does anyone have contact information for the photographer who was shooting family portraits at Laguna Seca in 1988? Today my daughter, who was three years old at those shows, mentioned that the post-show scene at those gigs is one of her earliest memories. I’d love to get a print of the photo that was taken by that photographer. Thanks!
