Days Of Dead

"Loose Lucy"
Hint:
A song that was around for a couple of years in two very different arrangements, and then disappeared for more than 15 years before making its triumphant return

Indianapolis, IN, State Fair Coliseum
Debuting in a slow, bluesy arrangement in 1973, "Loose Lucy" was reborn in 1974 with a peppier arrangement that would appear on Mars Hotel. It left the repertoire after 1974, returning on 3/14/90

The tease led me down a dead end. Listening on the Archive corrected my route. Yee-haw!

went round and round a couple hundred times before settling on the right choice. The beginning count-off with Keith banging those keys is different than most others.

Now that I found it, going to listen to the entire show and get to work. Watch out for those crispies that can fry the speakers!

a couple of my leads sent me to archive which alas had no recording of the song for the show even though it was listed as played. Thought it was time to put my rabbit hole suit on, then poof, there it was just a few more down the line.
Cant believe i b 62 in just 4 more days and still happily playing with the rest.
Hey Dave, you out their playing along this year ?????

...until the ending leaves us hanging! And, as brassinthegrass says, the keys, vocals, and (yes) this one syncs.
This show was pure Americana. Bet that cotton candy (apple pie?) was sweet! As per the hint, LL went through a couple of changes; worth checking out a few before and after for the evolution. But for this show Jerry seemed happy to play some straight ahead rock-and-roll (in the early songs anyway), and there are tight, slightly unusual versions of some other standards as well.
Listen to the birds on the hot wire sing - Thank You for a real good time!

Really nice listen today. Round and Round WOO Round and Round WOO. Great KEYS as well... then you might find a little stumble and a fumble in the lyrics so stay focused. You could be the one SHAKIN' THE TREE. Thank you DAVID, FOR A REAL GOOD TIME!

The 30 Days is my delight.
Don't take much to get me on this sound.
Be-bop baby how can this be? I believe this may be 7 for 7 for me...
You know I'll love the Dead till the day I die.
Thanks so much to the band for sharing these recordings and to David for putting it all together. He's got the dream job many of us wish we had.
Singing yeh yeh yeh yeh...
