Funny how in years past that the hints used to just be descriptions. Now they practically give it away. I used to like reading other's comments for cryptic clues. Don't even need that now. Big ole beachball coming across the plate today.

I looked real hard and I couldn’t find any reference to a Riverfront ARENA- that venue at the time was Riverfront COLISEUM and stayed that for many years. Very confusing, but when I saw that ARENA was one of the possible names I knew it was going to be an issue

I've now missed two on the technical name of what the venue is called. If we get the date and city right it should count in my opinion. Venues change names all the time.
Oh well....

I noted there was a discrepancy in yesterday’s venue name between dead.net and some of the other sources I use so I went with dead.net’s venue name.

Turns out I was “dead” wrong.

Venue name got me twice this year!

Sync was perfect. Charlie Miller is a saint but the Oade Brother's audience tapes are heavenly as well.

Dave is getting ready to hit us with a hard ball. This is another show I attended thanks to a FRIEND. Though he acted sick all week long at work to get the time off "He" never was, HE"S just a little CRAZY. He never FELT bad about it either. Carma got him "US" while TRAVELING down the rode.... a bad wheel delayed our planned TRIP. Another MIRACLE happens b4 we leave, he hands my BROTHER the 3rd ticket he purchased. All in all, what an experience and that TAPER section was full!

As I posited yesterday, are we sure that submissions for "arena" AND "coliseum" weren't both graded correct and included in the daily raffle? I'd like to think that they were. No reason to assume our friends are out to play a "gotcha" on us. :)

I guess we would know for sure if alan_t lets us know whether he entered the venue as coliseum yesterday.

OK, who makes the call on Dead.Net's end. I found local Cincinnati newspaper ad and post concert review and both referred to it as the Coliseum.

Arena was for the 4-8-1989 Cinci show.

hi truckinup2buffalo. i'm not being negative but just wanted to say that everyone loves the 30 days and sharing thoughts/comments but please take it easy on the over the top (and even capitalized) obvious clues so that people can enjoy the journey on their own.

Checked every resource out there including a call to Cincinnati City Hall lol. That was a funny call, “so hey I’m trying to pick the venue for todays 30DOD, what is the name of the room they played back on 10.2.76…lady was like bro what are you talking about hahahah.

In the end I went w dead.net archive listing even though that’s a toss up as well (ex. this years day 1), the old 30DOD from this day had it split, I even reached out to my Grateful elder council members.

Either way it’s just fun and I’m onto this sweet Miracle Fingers! Thanks 30DOD team, I need a miracle everyday!

Yesterday's track(s) were officially published on the "Live at the Cow Palace" bonus disc (2007). The Cow Palace bonus disc places them at the "Coliseum". Just in case you wanted to know.

What is going on? Again, Dead.net itself calls it Coliseum (dead.net/show/october-2-1976-0). Mary, would you please tell us how these "answers" are arrived at and how conflicts like this are adjudicated? I think the fairest thing would be to just go by date, not require the "correct" venue name in an answer, since there's ambiguity, especially with names from many years ago.

We have at least one of these a year. I’ll bet the official answer is what is written on the tape box in the vault. As far as I’m concerned they’re the same thing and until Dave suggests otherwise I always count my answer as correct

This also just happened to be the venue where those most unfortunate WHO fans got crushed to death in a mad dash to the door three years later. May they all RIP…

I was also at this show. I had the audience cassette tape for years and the brief feedback in verse 2 of Crazy Fingers gave it away for me. Was also the show when we got “She Belongs to Me” in set 1.

wondering how the mgmt does it is fun and probably a lot simpler than we think.

I just want to say that after so many years of listening, it never ceases to amaze me how these guys can destroy my mind. I love every November for opening new doors. When you think you have heard it all, there is something new around some corner where it's been waiting to meet you. For that I thank you and I say GOD BLESS THE GRATEFUL DEAD! You have been and will always be such a huge part of my life. Nuff said
