Edit: Outsmarted myself here. Usually I listen first, then look to the databases. Left my AirPods in the car last night and did it bass-ackwards today, and ended up with about twice as many options as I should have. DOH!

Agreed we've had this one before, in 2021. But for 2022 I'm seeing a Playin>Crazy Fingers from a different year.

Feels like I've been here before. Maybe I should've taken Basket Weaving 101 in college.

I hope I'm not giving too much away here but I almost put the wrong date because they played the same venue not too far apart and a lot of overlap with the setlists too! Just thought it was interesting.

I missed this the first time around.

I was hearing some different stuff in the downloaded version than in the one I was listening to on relisten, but I finally figured it out. Thankfully the possibilities were not endless.

Great tripping thru today’s jammin tunes. Thanks, Dave! But shakin' these old bones? Tell me what you done it for. I will not condemn you. But if you can abide it, let the hurdy-gurdy play. Or I wouldn’t even mind some stranger ones comin’ by here. Capisce?

to a 3 year period and found I was within 3 years of the correct year. Not bad. And while my hunches certainly aren't perfect, to quote someone whom I admire greatly: "It's gettin' there, it's gettin' there.

Still get the goosebumps every time in China Doll when he sings "just a little nervous from the fall. La, la, la, la, la-la-la." More of that wonderful old magic.

I awoke from some crazy dream and put 6/25/85 in my tape deck. Went to today’s download and thought about snow boots in West Virginia. High on the mountaintop now, without today’s answer. Have a grateful day!

I'm pretty sure I know where this show was as I was there. Beautiful day it was! I was 22 years old and going to college in Colorado.

I started at the wrong end of the Brent Spectrum on this one, mainly on a hunch.... That was erroneous. Also there were more close calls than I expected too.
Jerry's extra flair on a few notes & riffs finally clued me in!
I almost thought it was a different show.

Anyways I would've titled the pick "Playin' in the~China Doll~Band" on technical merits.

A must listen. After you've sussed out the correct show of course!(and possibly Track 1 for some good old-fashioned silliness.......if you're into that sort of thing).

Don't have the time to wade through the 30 plus versions of this combo, which I am guessing is 83 or 84?
Shouldn't there be a "Playin jam" tagged onto the end of China Doll because that is what it sounds like to me....

Luckily my guess on the year was accurate so I only had to listen to a handful. The Charlie Miller transfer of this show on the archive sounds pretty different than this so it threw me off at first.

Oldhead89 - you’re right and you’re right. Go with your instinct. Listen to Brent during the transition. That’s what gave it away for me.
