    The Days Between...

...The end of October and the start of December have been a musical feast. 30 Days is usually a treat but this year has really drawn my attention to some great 80s and 90s performances that I could easily have passed over. Right now, there's cold, rain and the possibility of snow over here in the UK but 30 Days brightens things up. Nice one, Dave! Thank you all.

    Well, the music's thunderin'

Went to see the DeadBase, this setlist I could find.
If I had my way, Brent & Jerry would still be here with us today.
Sure did get to see some Good Times with this band.
With way over 30 years upon me being a DeadHead, I can certainly share a lot of laughter looking back at those Good Times.
27 Days behind us, things might get a little Stranger.
Let's get on with the show, Let's Go.

    Keys are money!

Loving the keys on Stranger! I also LOVE TS, she has some serious grooves, check out some dance re-mixes if the studio stuff doesn’t do it for you. I pretty much enjoy all music except _____, I just can’t listen to that stuff.

3 out of the last several days are right in my favorite dead era.
Listen to the whole show, when the fog clears you will understand why it is my favorite time.
Had to edit this as i was so excited i gave too much away.

As i have been working graveyard shifts this last month, it's been hard to do the research that i love in this game. So i am very grateful indeed for all of Dave's softballs this year.

This one here he just gave it away completely !
Thanks, Dave

PS i was there on vacation this spring, and wish i had known that they played there, would have made the pilgrimage. Och aye.

thank you also Dave for all this music, these many long suites. lots of fun !

as we near the end of this lovely 30 day trip we're gifted, i wanna thank all of you, my Dead family, for the peaceful vibe we have here (a rare thing these days).
and of course thanks to all involved in making this happen, especially the folks in the band !

Nice one Dave, LOVE playing this game in November.

No need to even listen to this one to guess the answer though with a hint like that... I'll still be seeking out the whole show of course, just to confirm its aye right.

I've always deferred to the truly hard core on this board, but even I found this one. Okay, the hint was pretty major, but still feels good!

To the Taylor Swift concert, in the same city as today’s tunes, on 6/8/24. As a matter of fact, I think I’ll listen to this show, at the concert. Happy wife, happy life!

T-DAY is here and gone... This is DAVES CHRISTMAS GIFT to all of us. How many actually find it then immediately move on each day? Like me that's my own XM RADIO play of the day. That complete show is played continuously throughout the day at my place > I'm GRATEFUL for this SEASON and all DAVE offers!

Some lists have a different title for one of these songs, but no matter, 'twas still an easy one today,

Learn something new every day. Often referred to as "Good Times" or "Good Times Blues" on set lists, but the true title is "Never Trust A Woman."

That I think the majority of people listen to the entire show, or branch off to some other part of the tour or year or different versions of a particular song or songs. For me, I have a group at my workplace, who have minimal interest in the Grateful Dead, that totally get into this, and have for the last 5 years. Yes, there’s a Deadbase Jr. on my desk and Grateful Dead music playing incessantly, but 30 Days of the Dead captivates people. I guess it’s like a audio crossword puzzle. Today’s clue was easy, ONLY IF you knew what the clue meant. Then you still had to search…maybe. Have a Grateful Day!

Either the above clip is too fast or the shows online are too slow. WOW, what a contrast.

Told us the name of the place of the only show there? Still had to listen a bit first before searching the webs.

That was a great Lied Cheated! And that was the best Lovelight ever, right? Hurts Me Too with Garcia on slide, nice. Nothing like a Europe Good Lovin'...

I love this tour. But the tapes from this special tour were almost unlistenable, with only a few instruments and vocals audible on the soundboard. My new theory is that my old cassette soundboards were only partial multi tracks, and this tour may get the royal treatment someday. Maybe Im wrong, maybe Im right. Just sayin' I could use an early Christmas present bout now... Thank you to Dave and my fellow travelers.

On my first guess! "The combination of the Nor' Loch's stink (i.e. sewage) and the noxious fog from the city thus became the origins of "Auld Reekie"."

Swear I'm not tripping right now, but I still match up yesterday to 12/26/80 ... aud's and sbd's alike.... could be an illusion, but did anyone else guess '12/26'?

They were very similar but what gave it away for me was the ending of Deal and Bob's sign off.

I often rely on Bobby’s set-break announcement as a clue, but this “speech” was repeated a lot in this era, and surprisingly enough, Bobby seemed to get all the words right just about every time.
I relied on the S->D segue as the clue- the outro to SAILOR was cut way short by Jerry’s rushed intro to DEAL. Of course, as I mentioned in an earlier post, it still took three listenings before I was damned sure, but once found, the sync is a beautiful thing…

I guessed 12/26 as well. Sounded right after going through al the options and realized I missed it the first time through. I was so tired and almost wanted it to be the right answer more than correctly getting the right answer. Oh well, 27/28 is still pretty good.

woodro69 I'm glad you said this about 12-26-80! I had the same experience, they synched up so closely for me, Bobby's comment sounded word for word, and a couple of notable moments I thought were tells, but no. After some earlier sets I re-started at the bottom and worked my way backwards, I was so sure about 12-26 I didn't go on to the next one. ;-)

In these days of thanks and giving thanks, I'm so grateful for the Internet Archive where I've listened to more songs & shows than I'd ever be able to hear otherwise! AND where I find help solving 30 DoD puzzles.

BIG thanks to Internet Archive. I just made a donation and hope you'll join me in supporting this UNIQUE and invaluable resource!

Yeah, those keys were hot - and hearing the Dead doing the blues (alas, without the master, Pigpen) is a treat. Never Trust a Woman? Well, listen to Brent and trust in dem blues!! And the Internet Archive, so deserving of our continued support.
