for the Wenonah Italian Market!!!!!! Just returned from an thoroughly scrumptious dinner there featuring an excellent salad with high quality greens (at room temperature, not refrigerated - right on!) and decent tomatoes with a balsamic vinaigrette, followed up by an absolutely delicious veal saltimboca! And I finally got to meet Ken. Thank you 2G's, and Steve. And this award is entirely serious! Can't recommend them highly enough! Conversation is always more interesting than recitation, so speak your mind and not someone else's.

for the offer, Ted. Think I'm good for now, though. Maybe you could throw a bone to some of the younguns showing up round here of late, should they muster up the audacity to ask. Best of luck to your Chiefs, even though it probably won't thrill my parents who live in San Diego... Conversation is always more interesting than recitation, so speak your mind and not someone else's.

yo Mr Pid; I do have a few shows: whatcha need? I can spin some off while I'm watching the Chiefs & waiting for my lower abdominals to heal up. Thanks for the Spybot reference. I had tried SpyHunter and Spyware Doctor, but neither would kill the av360.

I heartily recommend Spybot for dealing with such things in the Windoze world. I also heartily recommend Linux for avoiding the Windoze world, and most of its attendant problems. Glad you got your problem solved, Ted. Remember, you can always burn some more shows to keep warm! Conversation is always more interesting than recitation, so speak your mind and not someone else's.

I enjoyed my Saturday evening isolating and removing a pop-up mechanism called av360. Somehow I got suckered into punching the "okay" button, as it advertised itself suddenly as a virus awareness function, and it was off to the races with non-stop warnings, automatic reboots and pc weirdness. I finally located a free malware software called Malawarebytes that found the pest and removed it successfully!! I celebrated the return of a normally-functioning laptop with a cold Mendocino Imperial IPA!! Bracing for a Sunday arctic blast later this afternoon.....

the actual award is a visit from the flyin' monkeys....so hide yer beer as they are notorious beer thieves, and have been known to steal west coast beer and bring it to new jersey for the lucky ducks. they are classified as aviary rodentian primates and are wicked fast, the rotten little winged bastiches.

Hey now, somebody shoulda told me about the mad props
Never visited this forum, thought I'd check it out and darned if I'm not getting kodus all over the place. Thanks fellow tribespeople! That Golden Can coming via UPS or regular mail? (the observant will have noticed that the vines I monitored all happened to be vines that hadn't gotten to me - just a coincidence, I swear! - Do need to get started on some of the ones past me, don't think they've noticed there may be an issue with the Field Trip) I've gotten more enjoyment out of this site than about any other place I've visited on the net - and I've spent way too much time on the 'net over the last fifteen years or so. Good peeps abound (some too nice to be humans, you know who you are). Hope to have a beer and cookies with johnman someday, toss a pot with PK, float in the breeze with LTApilot, visit the Euroheads (especially the ex-pats in France) and have marye give me the historical tour of the Bay Area, etc etc etc; now, if I can just win that dang lottery! Thanks again MarkintheDark PS Almost forgot: The address for Tommo I put on the O&ITW vine was incomplete, and I expect the vine to be returned. Just found out it hadn't been delivered to Tommo when I checked the forum yesterday, and identified the problem. Wanted to give it a few days more to see if it comes back, but since I've been "gently prodded" I think I'll go ahead and dupe it up again. I need to go post this in the forum too, so ta for now! (ale, that sounds pretty good...) ********************************************* I have a sigfile! --> www.kindveggieburritos.com *********************************************

I'm sure mixed emotions are involved, but it's pretty cool just the same!

I thought he looked pretty pleased about the whole affair. Good for him, not bad for a California dude, by way of London, England. So...I ordered his new Live at BBC box from Universal in the UK. Received a shipping notification on 6/14, hasn't arrived yet. CB, how long should I wait before I start getting nervous? No idea what a typical overseas delivery would be, and no tracking info either...

Gratefaldean - in my experience of sending vines, shipping to the US normally takes 10 -14 days so you should get it soon.....hope you do anyway. I have not ordered 'Live at the BBC' yet, but I should do.. Does Thompson live in California now? I had no idea. Anyway he does indeed looks pleased to get some recognition from his home country. Good for him; he is right up there with the best of them..

one suspects this was not on his mind back in the day. Or any other time either. But it's well deserved and it's a treat to see. (And folks, if RT comes to your town and you have not seen him, check him out, and not just because the Queen likes him now!)

Congratulations to Alex Allan on his knighthood. Officially it is for his public service including as the UK Chairman of the Joint Intelligence Committee. But we know it is for his services as a Deadhead, prioprietor of the Grateful Dead Lyric And Song Finder (www.whitegum.com) and author of sleeve notes for the Europe 72 Set.
