you can never tell. the way we have lived for a long number of years, is EVERYDAY is Christmas, everyday is your birthday, everyday is Thanksgiving, etc. etc. works for us. there was a guy on NY radio a number of years back, and his line was something like 'everyday is a precious gift to be unwrapped' love and peace.

On these Holidays, especially Thanksgiving and Christmas, when I go outside there is a certain peace vibration that can leave awe in it's wake. The sound of gratefulness for each other. The vibration of Love as people go out of their way to make each other happy. The feelings of positive Lightness. It is like a cosmic harmonic chorus of souls singing with joy!For those who are negative during this time I urge you to come outside and play, join in the feeling of love for loves sake or just bask in it's peace. Joy to the world, all the boys and girls...........Joy to you and me.....Enjoy!

I'm working on a plan to hold Christmas hostage. In the middle of the night, I will emerge from my underground lair and sneak into every home in the world (or at least my hometown) and steal all the presents, ornaments, stockings and even the roast b... (suddenly the sound of Dr. Evil's henchman, No. 2, clearing his throat interrupts), "Yeah ah, Dr. I'm afraid that there was a fellow that already did that very same thing. He returned all the items and became a hero to the entire season of Christmas. Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket Throw me a frickin' bone people! I've been frozen for thirty years!

So I drove out to CO from SoCal to be with my hubby and son for Thanksgiving. My poor old pickup truck took a header in Tonopah AZ (not Tonopah NV!) so I got to spend an night with my favorite uncle in Phoenix, which was great. I got to Colorado on Sunday the 11/18 to spend the rest of the week here with my Boys. I took a header off my front deck the following day, Monday, and broke a bone in my ankle. Surgery is set for 11 December. My mom was just blown away that I was laid up, and since we'd talked about me and my Boys driving back to MD for Christmas but now my foot was all jacked up and I can't drive at all, she ponied up for 3 airline tickets to fly us all back home for Christmas. My poor boss... I'm working as much as I can from home, and he's been great. Totally supportive and positive. I have plenty of sick leave I can use up, and he's been very cool. So instead of Thanksgiving week and then Christmas week, I'm getting both and everything in between! oh, and surgery in the middle.

izzie. Hope your ankle is better soon!!! Christmas this year will suck, as looks like I cannot afford a ticket to see the kids, so will be here in Spain, trying to pretend is no holiday. Sob! BUT New Year's Eve will be really great. Gilles will arrive on the 29th from Toulouse, and with my boss José and his girlfriend and two other friends, we will be taking a 3 hour roadtrip to a National Park on the Portugese border. Will get to see a bigger stretch of Andalucia by car, stay in a hotel in the park, hike and explore and enjoy nature, and party w/my friends. Will be a little mini-U.N between us all (one guy coming is Portugese, 3 Spanish people, Crazy French guy, and me. And will also be alot of fun! ********************************** Don't part with your illusions. When they are gone, you will still exist, but you have ceased to live. Samuel Clemens

Hey izzie- More positve ankle vibes heading your way... Take It Easy & catch up on some good reading, or whatever soothes you. Adding my two cents on the Christmas season: I know alot of chicks really dig shopping, but it ain't my cup of tea. I forget that I deteste shopping until I get roped into it and then it all comes flooding back. Last weekend a friend asked me to go with her, and since she knows shopping is not my thing, she said we'd only go to one store. Well, two hours later we're still there. The Chritmas songs are never ending and all there is to look at are clothes and shoes. Not to mention the perfume displays were giving me a terrible headache. Why was I sweating, I wasn't even speding any money?? WHEW I know people who love to spend a whole day in that enviroment. Anyhoo, on the way home we looked at some beautiful Christmas lights and I felt alot better. What's the big deal, I asked myself then. Why did I act like an ass? Who knows. * Merry Christmas, and good luck shopping * Peace

Sucks about your ankle Izzie. I hope everything works out, heals fast and you have a great time not being at work. Oh and if you haven't been back in MD for a while, our traffic has now been made to be just like portions of California, so you will feel right at home. I say we install some (more) toll roads so we can be like New York and California, at the same time. "I tell you Max, I don't know why I ever leave this place. My ankle is doing okay and the docs think all will be fine after surgery. I'd really wanted to do the local-only shopping for presents, as we live in a small town here with a small local economy. My husband flat out refuses to shop, though, and since I can't drive, it's turning into another internet shopping holiday for me. dammit.

Izzie ! That is a real lame excuse. Sorry just couldn't pass that one up. May you heal quickly and well and be able to get back out there and support that local economy. If the doors of perception were cleansed, everything would appear to man as it is, infinite. Wiliam Blake

has happened. My friend Rikke in Denmark has played Santa behind my back. I told her last week that I could not afford a ticket to see the kids, and thus was going to do my best to pretend there is no Christmas this year. So she took up a collection amongst some other mutual friends (Rikke wrote a bunch of my friends that she met at my birthday party in April, including my Dad) and now I am going to have a week w/my children. She told me this last night. I am stunned, blown away, and suddenly feeling very Christmassy with this good fortune. I will remember this gesture for a very long time-and how lucky I am to have such friends!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ********************************** Don't part with your illusions.
