    Let Oteil sing!
Can't believe how much Oteil brings to the mix. Saw the first If I Had The World at Red Rocks Aug.'78 and this version captures it perfectly. Wish it had made it in the set lists back then. Thanks David G. (and mbarrilla) for sharing.

Dead and Company ~ "If I Had the World To Give"
I crashed out early Sunday night and missed the program airing in Columbus. Dead and Company had been performing "If I Had the World To Give" in soundcheck earlier that week. I know I heard it in Washington DC and Detroit and was really surprised Columbus show was the night it was performed in front of audience. This Columbus show is very special for me , my Uncle Matt tragically passed on to another space just before the start of the Fall 2017 tour. He was laid to rest the day before the Washington DC show. The Columbus song selection for me seemed like a tribute to him. My Uncle graduated high school in 1985, he had no connection to the band and music but for me the connection was present. The band played Me and My Uncle China Rider If I had the World to Give He's Gone Stella Blue Ripple R.I.P. ~ Uncle Matt 1967 - 2017
