Now Taking Submissions For The Dead Covers Project 2022

    Dead Covers 2022

Attention all yea Truckin’ Fools: Show us that 50 years later, there is still “nothing like a Grateful Dead concert.” Can you deliver live takes as if you were on stage at L’Olympia or the Lyceum? Does that “Brown-Eyed Women” from Tivoli have you sowing for Delilah Jones? Where to start? Take your inspiration from Europe '72 (Vol. 1 and 2) and let your creativity flow, visually and vocally. Upload your video to YouTube, tag it #DeadCoversProject, and we'll make it available to view on the band's official YouTube channel (and maybe even the Dead.net homepage) in February.

Hello! My big bro and I submitted our entry a few days back :) I don't see it on the playlist of ~162, so just want to make sure it's up! We had a blast recording it.
It's on youtube as #DeadCoversProject #DeadCoversProject2022 I Know You Rider by bro & sis Drs. Satish & Padmini Pillai

I recorded and posted a couple of songs on January 1st ("Tennessee Jed" from Europe '72 & "Black Muddy River" just because) for this year's Covers Project and I can't wait to see what everyone else came up with for 2022.

It's come to our attention that some folks are uploading their videos set to YouTube Kids, which means we can't add them to the playlist, so please unclick that box if you want to be on the playlist! Thanks!

I took my kid to see Fare Thee Well when he was 10. Check him out with his Uncle's brother, that would be me, with one of our 3 offerings from Europe 72, BEW. Let him know if you like it!

FYI his YT channel name is " Me and My Uncle's Brother"

Hey now!

Here's my video for this year...

youtube.com/watch?v=sJAXM4uTOHU

Ten years of DCP. Incredible!

I've contributed every but 2020 (I was just at the tail end of a stressful and exhausting cross country move and just couldn't get up the ambition). But I will add I am so thankful for dead.net starting the Covers Project. It launched my Youtube channel and got me started in recording music and making videos after years of just noodling in my basement.

Very grateful,
Brother Sean

When I saw the Dead Covers Project was back, I assumed I had missed the deadline for submitting songs! Then I saw a post on instagram this morning and dropped everything to record a cover of Deal, which I've just uploaded onto YouTube. I'm not sure how many other people went for Deal, but I've always liked the song, and I tend to enjoy songs that mention playing cards in their lyrics. I spent the afternoon overdubbing the various tracks and then rushed out to film a short video to accompany the audio (I figured those who listen should have something visual to go with it, even if it was poorly conceived)
