Once again Garcia?s health hits the wall. After a short run to Southern California with the Jerry Garcia Band, he returns home on his birthday and collapses with heart problems. The fall Dead tour is cancelled. As the year passes, it is clear that Garcia has accepted his wakeup call; he adopts a healthier lifestyle and loses considerable weight. On December 3rd, the Dead return to the stage at McNichols Arena, Denver.
