The band says Happy New Year with an announcement of almost twenty shows in April and May. More details to come!
Folks, we are in for a treat
First, let me say that no one can ever replace Jerry. Not even close, IMHO. That being said Warren is a monster. Last night was the first time I saw him play, and I think he will be great with the Dead. The Allman's even closed the second set with a kickin' jam of The Other One. Made me feel right at home.

If you get confused, listen to the music play"

Others, I doubt not, if not We,The issue of our toils shall see;
Young children gather as their own
The harvest that The Dead have sown--
The Dead, Forgotten and Unknown.

Muchas garcias
to Grateful Canuck and Tina for their replies. I never had problems with mail order before, but it just seemed to take kind of long this time. Oh well, nothing left to do but SMILE, SMILE, SMILE! Again, thanks!
ccs gonna be gone
Nice!
Hey now how do you import youtube vids like that? I tried to put one in a post in dead.net and all it did was paste the web link to youtube... Just wondering how you get the whole video like that?

Rothbury Dead -- Sustainable Camping?
I think it's way cool to have green, sustainable camping at a four day event, but after looking at the VIP packages I'd have to say that the energy footprint for this festival is going to be a monster. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to lay our the $3400 for a safari tent with all the furnishings and electricity, air-conditioned bathrooms and showers and trucked in ice as well as the $118 vig for "shipping & handling" charges. I just wouldn't want anyone to think it was green, sustainable camping.
Conspicuous consumption is just so retro these days, what with Feed The Children leading convoys of food into cities and all.... Wouldn't you just love to hire two white-jacketed eunuch nubians with black linen towels over their arms and say "Blend us up two more top-shelf ritas and bring us the mirror after you finish slicing & dicing. Chop-chop boys!"

Wheres Jerrys resting place?
Where was Jerrys final resting place? I mean, where did they finally lay him down to rest?
Ashes over The Golden Gate
If I remember correctly, they spread his ashes over the side of the golden gate bridge!_____________________________________________
Will you come with me? Once in awhile you can get shown the light in the strangest of places if you look at it right!
Jerry's ashes
This from Wikipedia:
On April 4, 1996, Bob Weir and Deborah Koons spread half of Garcia's cremated ashes in the Ganges River in India, a site sacred to the Hindus. Then, according to Garcia's last wishes, the other half of his ashes were poured into the San Francisco Bay. Deborah Koons disallowed one of Garcia's ex-wives, Carolyn "Mountain Girl" Garcia, from attending the spreading of the ashes.
Phil writes in Searching for the Sound that they made it under the Golden Gate to a point where the captain said the ashes would be carried out to sea. As they poured the ashes over the side of the vessel some of the ashes were blown back against the hull. Bobby leaned over with a cloth napkin and "scrubbed poor Jerry off the hull". Sometime later Phils wife Jill was weeding a garlic patch when she reached into her pocket and found the napkin Bobby had used. She offered a quick prayer and buried the napkin there in the field.
May he rest in peace. We miss ya Jerry.

Where to camp by the gorge?
Hey Now, Anyone have a good spot to camp by the gorge? I'm going to need to get something set up... Wildhorse is sold out[no biggy, their close but I've heard they suck], the Gorge's Camping BITES[they were breaking up drum circles and sweating the buses at Sasquatch 07
Bobby and Phil
I was blown away the other night at the Allman Bros, Beacon Theater, NYC. I have a buddy on the inside who is always a reliable source but when he told me earlier in the week that Eric Clapton was going to show up I didn't believe. Sure enough, Clapton came out and jammed the whole second set. My bud also told me that Bobby and Phil are jamming with the Allmans closing night Mar 28. For all the lucky ones, just a little taste what what we're going to get on the tour. Always believe.
If you get confused
Listen to the music play
"Oh if a man tried
To take his time on earth
And prove before he died
What one man's life could be worth
I wonder what would happen
To this world."
It looks like good seats have been released
I just bought some very good seats at ticketmaster , Ithink they were the VIp seats and didn't get sold, so they are now $95 or so....I know that Worcester has some, Albany.....
Get them before the scalpers do.....
Tickets
Just received tickets from gdtstoo for the Charlottesville show and they are floor seats - wahoooo. Although I have not received tickets from the online pre-sale for the same show; called to check on them and MusicToday said they should be sent out seven to ten days before the show. Wow- talk about cutting it close. I have learned my lesson and will stick with gdtstoo and skip the "new" way to purchase tickets.
I need a ride to the Albany show on the 17th from NH.
Anyone going to Albany and Worcester from the Hampton Beach area? I desperately need a ride. send me a message on this site or at www.myspace.com/ryanfowler
WDTTMIWDSWLUITHLISAMS
Went down to the mountain I was drinkin' some wine, looked up In the Heaven, Lord I saw a mighty sign.........(sorry-just bored)
Albany tickets in hand from mail in
Hot Damn....got my 4 duckets Section 106....while not on the floor...close in on the side....Sunshine daydreamin' here!
What I told....what I said!
Now it's 7-10 days before the show?
For presale tix? Man, what's the hurry? Make them will-call and I'll at least have some degree of confidence that we'll see them.
Let's see, 7-10 days before the show I'm 900 miles away from my mailbox, and will stay that way until 3 days before Greensboro. I'm going to leave home before having tix in hand?
First-in, last out. That's the way to run a business!
Good seats for charity
I just saw this news article online and thought I'd share:

If this doesn't show as a link, copy and paste into your browser addy bars- I have bad luck with these things.
Peace!

Three cheers for Marye,

"Theres a band out on the highway,Their high steppin into town,
Its a rainbow full of sounds, and it's fire works, calliopes and clowns,
And everybodys DANCIN!"
Wow 7-10 days
If it is literally 7 days before show time before we get these tix I'm up crap creek without a paddle. Sorry but that is terrible, ridiculous, unheard of, bad business you name it.
"When the smoke has cleared she said, that's what she said to me. You're gonna want a bed to lay your head and a little sympathy"
Agreed Jackstraw,
Definately not good, its kinda funny how their quick to take your money, but make you wait forever to get your tickets. Nothing but positive vibes for you brother!!! I have a huntch you'll get them tomarrow or the next day.
"Theres a band out on the highway,Their high steppin into town,
Its a rainbow full of sounds, and it's fire works, calliopes and clowns,
And everybodys DANCIN!"
Thanks phatmoye!!
I'm sure we all will get our tickets in time, it's just a bit shady in my opinion and it doesn't make much sense. Unless they have to print every ticket by hand, using rare paper from deep in the rain forest, and special ink imported from the orient and then use carrier pigeons to deliver them all ... yeah yeah that's it! No wonder why its taking so long... :-)
"When the smoke has cleared she said, that's what she said to me. You're gonna want a bed to lay your head and a little sympathy"
I have purchased tickets
I have purchased tickets with musictoday presale and they did get the tickets to you almost 2 1/2 weeks before show. nothing special tickets either, just regular ticketmaster or livenation stubs. the wait gets ya a bit agro but they will come and when they do i know i will have a permanent smile till show time. to everyone out there have a great show... nothing left to do but smile, smile, smile............peace

The years lookin real good so far this year, with Rothbury and spring tour. Just hope the gas prices don't go crazy. Payin $2.09 for unleaded today and yesterday it was under 2 dollars. I can feel Dylan callin me to Rothbury.
