High Sierra Music Festival is an excellent 4 day festival just east of Chico, California in Quincy. I'll be going this year, it starts on July 5th. I think there is over 80 bands with late night shows, music all day, parades, activities, workshops, camping, and more! This festival is so comfortable with high sense of community throughout. Check it out

High Sierra is the best in the west! Great music, nice vibe and cool people. I've gone the past 10 years!

I'll be there this year as well. First time I'm goin as a paid customer...worked at the frozen fantasies booth in years past So excited...anyone else goin? What are most looking forward to doing/seeing @~~~~~~~>~~~~~~>~~~~~~~~~>~~ When you want that groove that invokes dreams, close your eyes and focus on the dream not the groove

high sierra is the highlight of my summer... i work beer crew with my partner (he's one of the crew coordinators). some of my (current) favorite bands will be there... ThaMuseMeant (alt/folk americana- Nathan Moore is one of the best songwriters around) the Slip (jazz/jam/rock/experimental) and the best of all: Suprise Me Mr. Davis (the Slip with Nathan Moore- oh yeah!) also looking forward to Xavier Rudd (haven't seen him before)

Granted I went once back in 96 when it was still in Bear Valley.... I saw MMW and SCI for the first time. Saw a local midwest fav - Acoustik Hookah (spell?) dug them on the small stage. Lets see saw - Hypnotic Clambake,Leftover Salmon...gosh so many cool bands! Many excellent vendors and met so many new friends...

Warren Haynes Band will be headlining July 2nd. I wish I could go, Warren has a new CD out called "Man IN Motion". I listened to the whole CD yesterday after Warren's set at Bonnaroo at warrenhaynes.net Sounds like a masterpiece to me.
