Our friends the Rhinos have various and sundry new releases in the development process, but they're always interested in hearing what you'd like to see hit the virtual shelves of the Store. No promises, but you never know...

This topic is for requesting new DVDs. There are also topics for box sets and individual shows.

If you've already requested something in the previous Requests topic, you don't really need to request it again, but hey, if you just can't help yourself...

...one man gathers what another man spills... Richfield Coliseum on 9/4/91 was a terrific show: I keep the 2nd set cd in my car cd changer with Scarlet queued and ready. Rock the Cradle will be fantatic as well! Looking forward to Jerry's birthday. Is Rhino holding the trump card on Veneta OR, 8/27/72? I didn't see any cameras in Boulder a week later....that was a real party.

07-07-89 JFK video release!/sunshine daydream

Hi Y'all, I think there has been talk about the JFK 1989 show slated for video release. According to Lemiux there are some decent video source available with multi-cam similar to "truckin up to buffalo" release. However, the performance of this JFK show is stellar. It would be a shame and debacle not to release this show in it's complete version. Please, no more partial compilations, not very many hardcore fans want thier GD to be a "greatest hits" for their (dreaded) iPod. It makes sense to release this show , the quality is there, and the performance is there, and the set list is there. Unlike the buffalo show where the band does play well, but almost restrained and the setlist is average in my opinion. As for sunshine daydream...I've givin up on it, and resort to my bootleg version which is OK. Evidently, the royality and production rights must be a issue between the filmaker, kesey camp, and the GD org. Also, I don't know if the naked pics and streaking fans with obvious children depicted at the event might be a connotation the GDP doesn't want to indirectly promote, and I can't blame them. To avoid such PR issues it would be prudent to offer this show for a download video release. I'm sure the GD could work this out;however, I don't know what camp is stalling for the release but suffice to say that all major collectors already have a decent quality version. I've heard there is more footage that has been found and remastered for the slated release of this film. It is classic and should be released in some capacity before the market is dried up on the secondary market and trade groups. View from the Vault

I miss the view from the vault series. If they could revive "From the Vault" why not View? My vote for next one would be 6-17-91. Just watched a you tube version of the eyes opener. Great stuff. One View release a year would do just fine (with additional DVD releases like Sunshine Daydream). The cd releases are hitting a real nice stride. Lets get some visuals too!!"Music is the best" - FZ

how bout releasing "So Far" for purchase besides being included in the new "all the years combined" collection. i'm sure, as i, the lot of us already have all the others and have been patiently waiting for a new. Furthermore, how about that blue ray ?

Fillmore West

Just watched a DVD about the closing of The Fillmore West and Bill Graham's business style. In addition to an incredible two songs by The GD... Santana, Jefferson Airplane and other "groups" were showcased. July 2nd,1971 is the date of The Grateful Dead's performace... it's obvious that this whole show was filmed, complete with close up's of Jerry and Bob and split screens of the crowd and twirling girls... Rhino probably doesn't have the rigbts to this footage... but it is so good, they should try to get it whoever owns it should release it themselves..

1982?

As I stumbled out of the Oregon Country Fair on Sunday, wondering where we left the car, I asked if they filmed the 1982 show there? Also curious to know where the stage was for these shows, if anyone remembers.Would make a lovely box set-Sunshine Daydream 72 and the 10th anniversary show in 82. Just sayin........

I'll have to dig out my slides from '82

and see if they tell us anything.

8/27/72 Sunshine Daydream.

I recently went to my local HMV and bought a bootleg DVD of this show. It cost 10 bucks and only has 7 or 8 songs on it. Other entities are making money on this by somehow getting "reputable" music stores to sell copies. So yeah... It needs to be an official release.

1995-06-30 - Rain!

Not the best performance of the available 90's video screens but awesome energy because of good old mother nature.

Now that SSDD is a reality (Wow!), 7/18/89 Alpine

Already seen it at meet up at the movies last year. Throw in the Music Never stopped (and the rest of the end of the 1st set cut off from Downhill on 7/17/89 as a bonus). You guys already have the footage. It sounds great. A very good show. Not on the level of SSDD, but almost nothing is.

This would be an awesome release... The soundboard isn't in circulation, at least I could never find it! The show is an absolute monster too... Playin' -> Crazy Fingers to open the first set and an incredible up-tempo Friend of The Devil to start the second set.

Alpine Valley Show

Please, you put it on the big screen for us. We all went to the "Dead night at the Movies". That show is complete, just waiting to be purchased and mailed to us. We need to see Jerry again, grinning at Brent and the whole band roaring that night. What are you waiting for? Teachers open the door, but you must enter by yourself.

8/4/2017 Jerry's 75th B-day Celebration at Red Rocks

I know this isn't really the right forum for this but w/ the ad-hoc bands that played it's hard to find the "Right Site". What an incredible show! I didn't see a ton of shows (~20 from '73-'87), and all in the northern plains and midwest. Some were great, all but 1 were very good. This show at Red Rocks was the best. Please publish it! DVD would work. Just the music would be fine with me.

The show was filmed by ORTF (the former French national TV agency), and the original should be in the ORTF archives in the Institut National de l'Audiovisuel. Get a copy, clean it up, sync it with the SBD that was also made that night, and profit (spiritually and financially).

So little has been released from 1985 - can we have the So Far sessions released in total on video, and if you want to include all of the '85 NYE with Ken Kesey and Bill Walton and Guido Sarducci talking about USS Merrimac and Wagner himself, that'd be okay as well!

Woodstock footage

I would love to see a DVD release of the Woodstock performance. The version of Dark Star is really quite beautiful - I was listening to it and watching it on You Tube and my cat became fascinated by it and came and sat on the keyboard so as to get close to the screen. I played it many times, but now it has been removed for copyright reasons. I would love to have access to the video footage as well as the music, once again!!!
