This is a photo I took of the group at the Mississippi River Festival. I was the staff photographer of the Granite City Press-Record newspaper at the time and covered many of the concerts at the outstanding outdoor venue.

Jerry's face
Christopher SeldenI was not there, but you get the feeling when you are looking at this picture that you are transfromed back into Mississippi live during this show. Makes you wonder though, what song the gentelmen are about to go into or finish because Jerry, as well as Bob seem to by following Phil's lead. Who knows, the picture is great. I love the look on Garcia's face.

I was right beheind you - 8th row on the aisle! Must be a 1st set shot 'cause the stage is still naturally lighted. Those whom were there know that the weather conditions ran the gamut. It was a ball!!!Though it felt like Mississippi at the beginning of the show, we were actually in Edwardville, Illinois!!!
One of my favorite Jerry notes of all-time - while in attendance or not - happened during TLEO in the first set - a harmonic for the ages! I think I am heard wailing like a wild banshee when he stroked it! Thanks for rekindleing a cool memory for me Mr. GCPR photo man!
Any more shots?

My first and only MRF
I remember the concert like it was yesterday, especially when the heavens opened and the rains fell making the parking area a giant mud pit.
A guy helped me get my car unstuck and I never got the chance to thank him...so thank you whoever you are!
The show was fabulous and I'll never forget it.
