But dude, Red Rocks would be awesome! Not to Mention a short stint at Alpine Valley, or even helping the folks out down south in Texas, or who knows maybe even a new outdoor venue. I'm hoping everyone gets to see this band. Especially those who have been deprived! _____________________________________________ Will you come with me? I've seen Bobby hit the stage 13 times (Phil 11x) in the last 10 months (5x The Dead, 2x Ratdog, 6x Furthur) and to me the most magical part of those 13 shows has been Furthur, maybe not necessarily the "best" line-up but certainly the most magical. Why? Well it has to be John. Then add in that Phil and Bob are sounding and looking grate, playing loose and happy and with purpose it feels like. Add Jeff who very well may be the best Dead piano/keyboardist and Joe Russo who I thought was just such a strong drummer in the shows I caught and last but not least the ladies background voices = a super tight band radiating energy, love and just a real good time. We'll miss you Jay - good luck man! Finally my favorite part about Furthur is that they are full of surprises, one after another. They are just so much fun to see live... Mountain AIre would be so much fun ... man ... hmm.. Really hope to be able to catch some shows this summer. Come on guys - still plenty of slots open for a late summer 2 night (at least) run at Red Rocks ( ~ ) : } "Here's my half a dollar if you dare .. double twist when you hit the air. Thanks for the Furthur thread, Mary!
We were fortunate enough to see Furthur in Manchester, Amherst, and at Mohegan Sun, and we love this band! John K is a great addition - he brings a lot of energy and enthusiasm along with his talent. I'm sorry we're losing Jay Lane, but I think the band will still go on strong. Looking forward to seeing them again in Lowell this summer!

    Finally, a Furthur Discussion!
Thanks Marye, I love it. I saw the band grow all this year. First with the 2 shows at the Hammerstein in New York....I hadn't felt that good about a post Jerry band since the older Phil and Friends LIneUps. I remember the amazing feeling of the "It" factor in the music at those shows and every show they've had since the band just grew tighter and tighter. I was supposed to go to the NYE shows, but due to Mom's sickness, I was unable to go, and boy did I miss a doozy. The best part about it, is I rode the "Couch Tour" and listened over the internet. Every show it seemed the band was melding into what they are now....A really tight and amazingly powerful musical entity. As for the neigh sayers of John Kadlecik from DSO, something about a "fake Jerry", are now silent because they understand that he really is a true musician and is channeling Jerry (not being a fake one). No matter who you put in that slot there will always be someone who will say something negative, which is understandable, because we can't replace ((((Jerry)))) ever. SO basically after riding the "Couch Tour" and listening to the band grow, I was able to experience one of the best performances I've seen since 1993 Grateful Dead regarding our family. Chicago March 2nd, and 3rd blew my mind, it was an absolutely epic time. Not only did the band smoke the shows musically, the vibe, the feeling, the energy, and the feeling of being back with the family again was intensely pure. The difference between CHI/NY is astronomical in terms of tightness, which is to be expected with a newly formed band. All I can say is, I haven't felt this way about a band in a long time. And from here they can only get better! Great job Furthur! I can't wait to see yo again @ Mountain Aire! _____________________________________________ Will you come with me? Which is where I saw several killer Grateful Dead shows. The show was the best I've attended in years. Got to go with both my sons and it was a great experience. Really loved the "We Bid you Goodnight" encore. First time I've heard it live! I love this band. Hope to see some of you in Philadelphia on 7/11.

Thank you Mary E! I've been looking for some Furthur discussion, not limited only to news announcements - the talk tends to get a bit fractured and forgotten that way. There are several threads at Phil Zone, & Ratdog.com, no discussions on furthur.net, but it seems natural for there to be a forum here. Caught my only Furthur show at Cornell. What a beauty. Mellow like the town of Ithaca. The love vibe was ripe that night for v-day. They Love Each Other and Unbroken Chain were my highlights. John was great... still enjoyed the Dead with Warren @ MSG more cuz it was such a killer show. So, who's going on Summer Tour? Guess you Mountain Aire folks will have lots to talk about first. It's Highland Bowl and ArtPark for me =) See you on the road!

Hey now, where is everyone these days? LIning up 2011 show plans? We got tix for 3/4 & 3/6 at the Orpheum in Boston. No luck yet on 3/5, but still waiting for word from DS TOO - hope they come through for us! This is the first time I've tried the mail order route. The online presale was totally hopeless. It is unfortunate that the mail order and general online sales aren't timed far enough apart for you to know whether you've scored on one before you try the other.

Just saw for 2011 2 shows in Fla. First one at the new University of Central Florida's Arena. Just opened back in 08 and this a beautiful place to see a show with plenty of parking and lots of room for vending, partying, etc..., just watch out for the campus police, they can be real backward thinking and have a tendency for overreacting. With that in mind, have fun but be safe. Since the band will be skipping North Carolina this spring, I can't think of a better place to be in April, Sun, fun, furthur, definately something better to think about besides all of this snow and cold up here. Jack: Looks like you have three shows coming up in CO, and I'll bet you're going to all of them - enjoy!Ted & Sam: What about the SC show? Just wondering, I would think that would be a nice warm spring venue as well. We've got tickets for 3/4 & 3/6 at the Orpheum in Boston. It's a small venue that sold out quickly. It's a real Brokedown Palace with lots of duct-taped renovations, but it's only 12 miles from our house, so we would love to be able to do all three shows. Still waiting to see if mail order comes through for us (and if it does, we'll have too many tickets - but better than getting shut out!) I'm surprised there isn't more conversation on this site - The Dead in 09 tour generated so much action, I could barely keep up with it after work. And that was just one tour in one season, where it feels like Furthur is taking us further indeed - a lot to be happy about, especially for folks like me, who got on te bus belatedly.

is an outdoor facility, alot like the bayfront in Miami, there is absolutely no tailgating at this place and parking will be expensive and iffy. I love south Fla but I will pass on this show, as far as South Carolina, I had a bad experience there and wouldn't set foot in that state for love or money or even free tickets, the cops in this state suck and they will bust you or at least mess with you if you look the least little bit like a head, good luck to any and all going there.

Hey boyz and girlz...LOVE YOU....missed you too. Figured I'd just write everything here, because I assume most people check this thread. I've been under some serious pressures lately, Mom is back in the hospital, and honestly when she was out it was like a full time babysitting job. So, I appreciate all the kind vibes from all you from before, she's doing ok, just not there yet. Also, I've been working on projects @ the same time so I've had to put PRIORITIES ahead of being online and talking to my family. I will be getting everything squared away here in the next couple of days, I really just need to sleep and take a breather from the Chaos of what I've been dealing with. So please don't think that I've forgot about prizes and Getting back online/chatting/talking/vining and talking with all you kind folks. Just know that I've been under EXTREME stress with Mom's Disease and dealing with the game called "Life". Thanks for understanding, and I love you my family....ALOT! In fact without some of my close friends and dead.netters (family freinds) I don't think I'd still be sane right now. To all heads going to this show......I live in this area and would like to inform ALL heads attending. This venue is across the strreet form a police department and jail. 6 UP people.Nothing cool ever happens here & I do not expect much tolernce. I may be wrong. Maybe they want to start having more shows to bring in revenue and will be very tolerant. One can hope, and I have been surprised before. Just thought I would throw it out there.

I thought it was a wonderful show! The first couple of songs didn't excite me too much, but from Alabama Getaway on, it was all good. The second set was truly amazing! We went to all three Boston shows, and I was lucky to hear a lot of favorite songs I hadn't hear live before: Alabama Getaway, Crazy Fingers, Help>Slip> Franklin, Morning Dew, Tom Thumb's Blues, Mason's Children, Passenger, and St. Stephen. It does seem like they don't always pay enough attention to what they've played in a certain geographical area before. For example, there was only one song at the 11/19/10 Worcester show that I hadn't seen Furthur do before (China Doll), and it was only my fifth Furthur show. And the 3/5 Ripple encore was nice to hear as always, but that was the encore for the 6/30 Lowell show and the 11/19 Worcester show, so it does become a little less special. So I was really glad to get so many tunes in Boston that I hadn't seen them do before.

I echo your comments about the Friday night show. Second set rocked. Glad you enjoyed all three shows. My next taste will be Radio City. I heard Warren Haynes joined the boys for the Second Set last night. Anybody out there have a review. I saw the Allman Brothers Saturday night and Warren absolutely burned the place. It was his night and he was sizzling, especially the first set. However, I never thought he quite meshed during THE DEAD tour a few years ago, so I'm curious if he was able to shine with Furthur.
