Was this the "never coming back to Nashville show?"
This was about the time I started going to concerts at all, lived in a little town about an hour west of N'ville. Didn't get to go to this one, and wasn't it the last Dead show there?

NOT the "never coming back to Nashville" show...
....as this was the first of two shows the band played at Nashville's Municipal Auditorium in '78. The band returned to play on December 16, 1978, which, as it turns out, WAS the "never coming back to Nashville" show.
"Never coming back"
The Band swore after the December 16, 1978 show that they'd never go back to Nashville. I worked that show for Sound Seventy Productions and it was a madhouse. Lots of stuff grew wings backstage and flew away, including (allegedly) one of Weir's backup guitars. As far as I know, the Dead didn't go back to Music City...at least they never did when I lived there
