PIGPEN RON MCKERNAN
Will this be 5 YEARS without a Pigpen song? WTF
holy trinity
The answer is in St Stephen.
By the way , killer show, thanks for pointing me in the direction there of.
also one of the few(if not the only time) they played a certain song.{ quiet attentive crowd )
Interesting Reminisces
If you google the show location and Grateful Dead, there are some pretty interesting recollections of the "typical for the times" event. Where does the time go ...
RE: Interesting Reminisces
I was just about to say the exact same thing. I Googled the name of the venue + Grateful Dead + the year. It's an interesting post, for sure.
old times
sometimes you can do better with no technology, databases, or archives. sometimes all you really need to find your way is a good old map.
Edit: but even maps have missing info, lots of dave's confusion prince in finding this one
thanks for the long deep dark walk across bill's bridge
No easy task
I think there are around 60 of these.
Good luck and cheers.
Some hilarious raps going on here.
What incredible sounds though! Felt like I was right there in the hall. And such a well behaved crowd.
Lower down and lower down again....
Good call smallz! I got lost in similar dust but had marked this show during the review of my paperwork. You and pukegrub helped confirm it for me. Right there with you at 12-12!
Oh Wilbur!
I was looking at 68 Dark Star etc's, but it wasn't hard to back the right horse after reading comments.
SMALLZ n PUKEGRUB
With a ROSE.... A key part in this area during a certain time of the year. A couple people and a couple different versions in solo career songs mentioning a ROSE or roses! Yes, a song not mentioned in many of the search areas, though is available... and another not long lived during its existence. It doesn't HURT to ask a FRIEND! "smallz and pukegrub you guys are good" GOODNIGHT!
This is your brain on the Grateful Dead!
An all day TRIP for me over William Tell’s Bridge….is there anything better than The Eleven!?!? Pure madness… I close my eyes and wonder what it would have been like to have been there…Jerry on a whole other level in this era.
Tough one!
I couldn’t have done it without the hints in the comments, thanks guys! My usual search methods let me down on this one.
Long Searches
While I hit the correct year off the bat, I went right past it and had to come back but alas got there. Have to agree with whoever posted this is the era I dream about joining but I was just a wee one yet.
I've been victimized by The Grateful Dead
A rare and seemingly typical show that is now a celebrated event in the local music lore ....proving that There IS NOTHING like a Grateful Dead Concert.
Thanks for the tapers for documenting this GEM and Mr. Lemieux for introducing it.
Wish I'd been there because it sounds like perfect conditions for a Great evening....
I had to dig deeper for this one....
fun search
the intro to dark star helped quicken the search and the sync definitely made me see colors. maybe it was the echo. i just kept on listening and this whole show is top drawer.
Fun - and sublime!
Agreed! The relaxed, sublime intro to this Dark Star is so enticing. But syncing - augghhh! Who needs mind altering substances when presented with this!! And, yes, rest of the show is interesting (and unique, for one), but much seems to be missing (?) Hey, any requests? (Ha ha). Since this download is at a slightly different speed and pitch than what is already available, my hope (wish) is that somewhere is a full recording of this show. Maybe? Another fine pick by Dave of a show that had hitherto escaped my notice.
Primal Dead
Going from listening to 1976 Dead to this is a complete 180. I narrowed it down to sometime in 1968.....
