dead comment
The Show was great.
Skipped high school with a dozen friends and drove to Atlanta from Birmingham and stayed in Atlanta for the night after show. The show was on Thusday night. A fellow deadhead in the audiance firedoff a bottle rocket inside the Omni and the police got him!!! ! was seventeen years old.
Brewer and Shipley?
Was Brewer and Shipley the opening act? I know they opened for the Dead at the Omni and this time seems about right.
add more songs to the soundcheck list
Hey Now Friends and fans,GD Radio replayed this show on February 1, 2012 starting with the soundcheck. This part is usually played on-stage just before doors open. However (not being there myself) we guessed that the doors opened and heads filtered in as usual. Who knows what they were thinking. Was the time wrong on the tickets?
Here is the list as played for me today:
SOUNDCHECK - 12 tunes played,

This is my first listen to complete soundcheck. I'd like to find some more for my east coast Spectrum and Hampton shows .
Cheers !
Unforgettable!
This was my first Grateful Dead show and the set list included some of my all time favorites! The Omni acoustics were outstanding and I can still hear the crisp licks from Garcia's "Eyes of the World" solo. Jerry's vocals were especially pure and sweet during this period and it is hard to imagine a finer version of "Peggy-O" along with a superb China Cat/Rider. I would love to find this recording...truly unforgettable!
