Grateful Head
Yeah, Walton did play a bit on the drumz. He was a big hero still at the time with the UCLA crowd. I was in before the doors opened that night and smoked out with him for the first time. He invited me backstage, but didn't trust leaving my married girl friend with my best friend. Ludes and green pyramids lead to unexpected events as I found our later that night.
Vicki gave me a BJ during drumz, and I didn't find out until after the show that my buddy got the same during "Other One" and she always referred to the band as the "Grateful Head" after that night. I was a bit disappointed to be left out, but I guess that group sex might be a little overboard, even at a dead concert. And Other One->Black Peter took my full attention.
My first Brent show. He was playing so low key back then. Thought his mike was turn off...loved his voice six months later when I could hear him at Long Beach...."Fire!!!"
First set was the first show that I started to really enjoy Bobby on his own merits.
Sorry Bobby
pauley pav
pretty cool show especially considering my wife and I moved to Long Beach that day! played many of my understated favorites then (and still)...Althea is so cool.of course scarlet/fire. estimated prophet's chorus of "california" was very right for me that night. stranger...bad song turned into funky great jam.
My 1st show
Don't really remember too much about it other than it was my 1st show. It kicked in at my 2nd show on 12/12/80 at the Swing Aud.
A Virgin No More
Took Suzy from Santa Monica to her very first show. She danced her ass off and was speechless for hours with a huge grin on her face.

oh my gawd
The police were so uptite with our line scene that they had german sheppards leaping on leashes and growling, barking at the fans. I even think this was the same nite as the infamous Who concert in Cleveland where fans were crushed to death in the freezing snow rush at the late door opening. Nice show, totally horrible line scene with the UCLA police.

my first show with Brent
Also my last Dead show. I though the band was a bit shaky. Too much blow?
The Pauley Pavilion grab show
The Pauley Pavilion grab show poster has two specific points. First of all, I can’t really figure out what the artists try to tell through the drawing on the poster because I am not an artist and can’t really explain things that painters intend to say.
