Hal:Mosquitoes were no problem, as long as you were out on the water. There were incidental flies: horse, deer and black. Back on land, the skeeters became active by early evening.
I woke up the first night listening to a wolf howl: much different from the higher-pitched jabber of the coyote. Loons were amazing to watch, along with the common mergansers. After cleaning the fish, it was fun to watch the gulls fly-in for the remains, with an eagle perched or soaring closeby, thinking about moving-in ....
