Forums
Folks, we have had numerous requests, since the last chat room perished, to set up a new one.
A new one is under construction at dead.net/chat, and you're cordially invited to use it WITH THE CLEAR UNDERSTANDING that is is under development, not a finished product.
If you already have a happy chat home elsewhere, that's great. If you're interested in helping us make one here that works for the people here, as contrasted to doing something just because it exists that way elsewhere, come on down. Tell us what's not working, tell us if there's a feature you'd like; no promises, but we'd like to hear about it anyway as we're certainly not omniscient, and we've already fixed numerous reported issues.
Thanks.
Again, dead.net/chat is the link.
I had not considered
that copying and pasting a link would be such a challenge. But hey, it's clickable now. Thanks for the heads up.
In this day and age
of taking instant gratification for granted, seems like asking anyone to expend any effort whatsoever is too much. I do understand keeping it out of production nav until formal release.
And I can report all seems functional in Firefox/Fedora land. So happy to see it's not another flash-based solution.

The idea
is to build this pretty much from scratch to run in our environment so we're not at the mercy of things blowing up elsewhere in the universe quite so much. And of course the fine tech guy who's working on this has other demands on his time, but he keeps making incremental improvements based on requests and bug reports so far. We know it needs a good deal of refinement before we put the fanfare out there, but we also figured the people who had most asked for it back after the old one went kablooey were the ones to bang on the new one and tell us what was wrong, more or less, as well.
Furthur!
Wonderful!
That there is progress on this front. Happy chatting is now on the horizon!

First, I`m SO happy that this is being worked on. If memory serves, the GD Chat room is/was one of the oldest on the net. (not age of members, runtime)
I look forward to its return.
In Firefox, under winxp (you have money for my new OS, i dont, nor have i the expertise to do linux, same issue on my win7 comp, and in IE), i get a open chat window, with the input screen, and inputs seem to go in, but i dont see ANY chat.
Message me if theres a suggestion that might help me.
Thanks
Gamedad
Here`s an idea
How about the chat room was in a small window on the main dead.net site, like i`ve seen twitter on some sites.Would that be cool?
not working
Still not working. I know you are doing your best.Keep up the good work~
chat don't work
like Gamedad said (started not working as of yesterday)
THERE IS NO BUTTON. THIS IS IN TESTING MODE. WHEN IT's READY FOR
RELEASE WE WILL PUT UP A BUTTON. THIS IS NOT THAT TIME.
Use the link in the topic header above. Thank you.
it is available to all
who have a user account and wish to help us refine and debug it. If this is not you, wait till it's formally released. Thank you.
re new and exciting misbehavior
thanks, I just checked it and it's happening for me as well, so it's not an OS/browser issue. I'll pass this along.
30 DAYS 2012
When I re-arrange my downloads into Playlists, some of the songs e.g. "PLAYING IN THE BAND" do not click on to the next song. They terminate the playlist after completion, and do not move on ?
Any ideas :-(
this is probably not the best thread to post that question
You'll probably have better luck if you ask here: Technical Discussions, because there are people with a lot more accumulated wisdom on this issue than I've got...
junglehead
I know this is not the correct forum, but I'll bite. Try setting your mp3 player's playmode to queue, as opposed to all, intro, single or folder. I had to do that with my device once.
at least for me...
...chat just went Kablooey! Working one moment, not the next...
The wheel turns round, and it can`t slow down
I`ve missed dead.net chat for some time now, I hope it comes back.
Love to all,
Gamedad
