Welcome back to the Tapers' Section, where this week we have music from the first five years of Brent time with the band, 1979-1984.
Our first selection this week is from 5/4/79 in Hampton, VA, the Grateful Dead's first stop at the Hampton Coliseum, and Brent's third show. This was included on the vinyl-only release for independent record stores a couple of years ago. From the end of the show (which featured no encore), we have Space > Truckin' Space>Truckin'> Stella Blue > Around And Around.
Next up, from two years later at the same venue on 5/1/81, we have the start of the second set, featuring three of the newish songs that appeared on Go To Heaven a year earlier, Feel Like A Stranger> Franklin's Tower> Lost Sailor > Saint Of Circumstance.
Lastly this week is music from 4/27/84 in Providence, RI, where we have the end of the second set featuring The Wheel > Wharf Rat > Around And Around > Johnny B. Goode, Touch Of Grey.
Be sure to join us here next week for more music from the vault.
