Welcome back to the Tapers’ Section, where this week we have Grateful Dead music from the 1980s. Our first stop is on 6/27/84 at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, MD, where we have the end of the second set featuring Space > Morning Dew > Throwing Stones > Not Fade Away.

Welcome back to the Tapers’ Section, where this week we’ll stick around in the Brent Mydland era, with Grateful Dead music from 1984, 1988, and 1990.


Our first stop this week is the end of the first set and the second set opening Scarlet, which cuts off on the master cassette, from 6/29/84 at Blossom Music Center: Hell In A Bucket ; West L.A. Fadeaway ; The Music Never Stopped > Don't Ease Me In, Scarlet Begonias.

Our first stop this week is in Colorado Springs in 7/3/69, where we have this trio of songs that show a couple of sides of the Grateful Dead, from hard charging rock and blues to a beautiful, dynamic He Was A Friend Of Mine: Hard To Handle ; He Was A Friend Of Mine ; Turn On Your Lovelight.

Our first selection is from 7/7/81 in Kansas City, and includes the first Disco version of Dancing In The Street in almost two years: New Minglewood Blues > Bertha > Dancing In The Street; Big Railroad Blues >El Paso ; To Lay Me Down.
