First Row Seats
Not having a ticket I decided with a friend to hang out. SOLD OUT on the marquee The line entering was orderly. We got to hang out under the marquee. All of a sudden this big dude comes from inside and announced "anyone need a ticket? He was right in front of me. I raised my arm practically in his face. I paid cost. This show made Dick's Picks 11.
Jack Straw or Me & My Uncle?
Good point, TNHG: Uncle may not have been played on the 27th. The soundboard listed on archive.org does have Jack Straw; however, deadlists.com indicates Uncle after He's Gone. And of course, DP 11 has the Uncle. Where did the Uncle come from? Since Jack Straw was not played on either 9/26 nor 9/28, I'm thinking it was played on 9/27. Maybe David L can shed some light on what is in the vault??
MAMU vs. Jack Straw
Just to comment on the MAMU vs. Jack Straw confusion.
My Old Deadbase (VII) lists Jack Straw, as does this site.
But DP XI and the newer Deadbase site have MAMU.
MAMU (according to all the sources I could find) was also played on the 26th.
It looks like it should be Jack Straw, but I've heard a song twice in a three show run before, so it wouldn't be unprecedented. Pity though, as Jack Straw would make a much better show.
Would love some confirmation.
Still a mystery
Realize that this is an old thread but an ongoing mystery nonetheless. I broke out an old audience reel that's been sitting on the shelf since about 1977. I dusted off the Revox and was thrilled to see that after a little cajoling it still worked. Sadly it remains a mystery. After the He's Gone there's a cut in the tape and it goes to Greatest Story. No Deal nor Unc or Straw, so we still don't know. Who can find the Legendary Marty? He's probably the only one that can answer this conundrum
