Welcome back to the Tapers’ Section, where this week we have triple dose of Brent-era Grateful Dead music, from 1981, 1986, and 1989.
Our first selection this week is from 7/5/81 in Oklahoma City, where we have the end of the first set (Let It Grow) followed by the start of the second set: Let It Grow, Samson And Delilah ; Don't Ease Me In ; The Music Never Stopped ; Ship Of Fools.
Next is the start of the second set from the penultimate show of the summer tour of 1986, right before Jerry went into his diabetic coma upon his return home after the tour. From RFK Stadium in Washington, DC, on 7/6/86, we have Saint Of Circumstance ; Iko Iko ; Looks Like Rain ; He's Gone.
Lastly this week is the start of the show from 7/10/89, the second night at Giants Stadium, featuring Feel Like A Stranger~ Franklin's Tower ; Walkin' Blues ; Jack-A-Roe ; When I Paint My Masterpiece. That’s quite the ending on Masterpiece… There was a massive thunder and lightning storm at this show that caused a bit of a delay, but the Dead made up for it with a solid first set.
Be sure to join us here next week for more music from the vault.
