Week of April 26-May 2, 2021
Welcome back to the Tapers’ Section, where this week we have Grateful Dead music from three distinct eras in Dead history, 1972, 1976, and 1981.
From the final show of the first leg of the Fall Tour of 1972, on 10/2/72 in Springfield, we have the end of the show, featuring Truckin'> Nobody's Fault But Mine Jam > Drums > Jam> Morning Dew; Sugar Magnolia, Uncle John’s Band, Johnny B. Goode.
Next is a typically inspired and unique second set sequence from 1976, where the return of the Grateful Dead saw some very inventive passages. From 10/1/76 in Indianapolis we have Dancing In The Street> Drums> The Wheel> Ship Of Fools > Dancing In The Street> Goin' Down The Road Feeling Bad > One More Saturday Night.
Lastly this week from opening night of the Europe ’81 tour on 9/30/81 in Edinburgh, Scotland, we have the start of the second set, featuring Feel Like A Stranger ; Ship Of Fools ; Samson And Delilah ; Never Trust A Woman.
Be sure to stop by next week for more music from the vault.

10/1/76 Indy
Interesting free form jam following the Wheel before landing on Ship of Fools. I hitch-hiked from Colorado to Indiana arriving just in time for the show! After the hiatus began in late 1974, I sure was glad to have the opportunity to see the band again in 1976.
