Week of December 20-26, 2021
Welcome back to the Tapers’ Section, and Merry Christmas! This week we have some Grateful Dead music from 1969, 1985, and 1986.
Our first selection this week is from 3/28/69 in Modesto, CA, where we have a variation on the Live/Dead sequence, featuring Death Don’t tucked between The Eleven and Lovelight: Dark Star> St. Stephen > The Eleven> Death Don't Have No Mercy> Turn On Your Love Light.
Next up is the entire first set from 3/29/85 at Nassau Coliseum, where we have this terrific batch of 20th Anniversary Dead, featuring Cold Rain And Snow ; Down In The Bottom > I Ain't Superstitious ; Friend Of The Devil ; Supplication > My Brother Esau ; Tennessee Jed ; New Minglewood Blues > Don't Ease Me In.
Lastly this week is another complete first set, this one from a year later on 3/30/86 in Providence, where we have Hell In A Bucket ; Sugaree ; El Paso ; Cumberland Blues ; Tons Of Steel ; C C Rider ; Dupree's Diamond Blues ; Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues ; Deal.
Thanks for joining us, and we’ll look forward to seeing you next week.

Who's that on harp on the bluesy Bottom/Superstitious medley?
Too early for Huey Lewis. Think he did a song or two with them in the 90's.
Cheers
Edit: What a strange stand alone Supplication and Bob throws the curveball Esau while Jerry's trying to back door into Lazy Lightning. Lost him at the bakery, but quick recovery.
