Welcome back to the Tapers’ Section, where this week we have Grateful Dead music from 1972, 1973, and 1978.
Our first selection this week is from 11/19/72 in Houston, where we have this terrific second set sequence of Dark Star>Weather Report Suite Prelude > Mississippi Half-Step Uptown Toodeloo ; Around And Around ; Big Railroad Blues ; Sugar Magnolia.
Next up is music from 11/20/73 in Denver, where we have this wonderful batch late-73 Dead featuring Promised Land > Bertha > Greatest Story Ever Told ; Mississippi Half-Step Uptown Toodeloo > Dire Wolf ; Looks Like Rain ; China Cat Sunflower > I Know You Rider.
Lastly this week is the end of the show on 11/18/78 in Chicago, where we have Space>Olin Arageed > Wharf Rat > Sugar Magnolia, One More Saturday Night.
Be sure to join us here next week, where we’ll have more music from the vault.

when, not if...
...11/19/72 is released. How many more dates are there like this? Kezar '73, RFK '73 are another 2 that immediately spring to mind.
The Chicago clip is another example of how the 'From Egypt with Love' tour is underrated. Nov./Dec. '78 could have really benefited from a early Road Trips-style compilation and there are some nice standalone shows in there as well!
Thanks Dead.net!
great tapers section!!!
Taking a break from Swing to listen to the Hofheinz show!! That was an early tape that seemed to circulate pre-betty boards!!! Have a good week...bob t
