Week of January 2-8, 2023
Welcome back to the Tapers’ Section, where this week we start 2023 with Grateful Dead music from 1970, 1982, and 1984.
Our first stop this week is at one of the Dead’s primary hometown venues, Winterland in San Francisco on 4/15/70, where we have this great batch of classic 1970 Grateful Dead music: Dancing In The Street, Turn On Your Lovelight> Not Fade Away> Turn On Your Lovelight.
Next up is the start of the show on 4/11/82 at Nassau Coliseum, where we have Mississippi Half-Step Uptown Toodeloo > Franklin's Tower > El Paso ; Candyman > Little Red Rooster.
Lastly this week is the end of the show from 4/16/84 in Rochester, NY, where the Dead always seemed to play well, right up to their final show in 1988:: Space> The Other One > Stella Blue> Around And Around > Johnny B. Goode, Day Job.
Be sure to stop by next week for more music from the vault.
