Week of June 3-9, 2019
Welcome back to the Tapers’ Section, where this week we have Grateful Dead music from 1970, 1981, and 1988.
Our first selection is from 2/28/70 at the Family Dog in San Francisco, where we have this classic, excellent trio of 1970 Dead: Good Lovin', Big Boss Man, Casey Jones.
Next up we have second set music from 3/2/81 in Cleveland on the late Winter tour of 1981, where we have Ramble On Rose ; Playing In The Band > China Doll> Playing In The Band Jam. A cool addition is a rare second set Ramble On Rose.
Next is the entire first set from 9/5/88 at the Capital Center in Landover, MD, the third night of a four night run at the Capital Center to open the Fall Tour of 1988. The previous show, on 9/3/88, featured an encore of Ripple. From 9/5/88, we have Iko Iko, Walkin' Blues, Ramble On Rose, Mama Tried > Mexicali Blues, Row Jimmy, Stuck Inside of Mobile With The Memphis Blues Again, When Push Comes To Shove, The Music Never Stopped.
Be sure to join us here next week for more music from the vault.
