Welcome back to the Tapers’ Section, where this week we’ll check out some Grateful Dead music from the early 1970s, early 1980s, and early 1990s, three distinct periods in Dead history
Our first stop this week is on 3/16/93 at Nassau Coliseum, the second show of a three night run at Nassau, where we have the start of the first set featuring China Cat Sunflower>I Know You Rider; Jack Straw; Wave That Flag ; Looks Like Rain ; Ramble On Rose; Box Of Rain; Beat It On Down The Line; They Love Each Other; El Paso ; Row Jimmy, including a rare China>Rider show opener.
Next is the start of the second set from 3/14/82 in Davis, CA, where we have Samson And Delilah ; Ship Of Fools ; Playing In The Band > Scarlet Begonias > Fire On The Mountain, including a unique position for Scarlet>Fire, coming out of Playing and heading into Drums.
Lastly this week is the end of the show on 3/17/91 in Landover, MD, the opening show of the Spring Tour of 1991, featuring Space > The Wheel>All Along The Watchtower>Black Peter>Around And Around, US Blues.

Love the bouncy TLEOs before they slowed it down. Whereas the pre-US Blues Wave That Flag I really have a tough time with. Great stuff from '73. That's my primal Dead.
