    Week of September 16-22, 2019

Welcome back to the Tapers’ Section, where this week we’ll check out Grateful Dead music from 1970, 1984, and 1988.

Our first stop this week is the Dead’s last-ever show in Hawaii, from 6/13/70, where we have Me and My Uncle, Good Lovin', China Sunflower>I Know You Rider.

Next is the start of the second set from 6/14/84, the final night of a three night run, including the first Grateful Dead performance of Dear Mr. Fantasy. From this excellent show, we have Shakedown Street>Playing In The Band>Dear Mr. Fantasy.

Lastly this week is the bulk of the first set from the Summer Tour of 1988 opening show in Bloomington, MN, from 6/17/88, where we have New Minglewood Blues ; Row Jimmy ; Far From Me ; When I Paint My Masterpiece ; Althea ; Victim Or The Crime, including the first Grateful Dead performance of Victim Or The Crime (Bob had been playing it for five years with his other bands and solo).

Be sure to join us here next week for more music from the vault.

Fantastic. almost buoyant first version of "Victim or The Crime."
"We're going to think about it for a little bit, we'll be right back."
