peace through musicHey Now , been out of touch for a while so here's an update.....Norman is still in intensive care, but is being weaned off the ventilator. Breathing on his own for 8 hours a day. It has been 4 weeks today, since he went in to the hospital. They deprived him of oxygen and or blood pressure for four to five minutes and he had a bilateral stroke. He wakes up and watches tv with us and can move all his limbs although not on command. Our hope is that he will go to a rehab center soon, but there are some doom and gloom professionals at the hospital that would like us to make other decisions such as ending his life. Thank you for all your positive vibes and the Love that you've sent him. The legal matter has been put off until after the new year. Wishing Peace and Love and Happiness to all.

My father

is having quadruple bypass surgery today, just found out, he had a heart cath this am and they are going in right away My mom is with him and no relative near (they do have some close friends with them). They are half the country away from me right now in Texas where they go for the winter. One of my brothers is flying in tonight to be with them. I will be heading down in the next couple of weeks to help with the recovery and healing but it is very hard to be so far away right now. I just seen this , my father in-law just had a 6 by-pass heart surgery a few months ago , he is still recovering but he smoke ciggs too , so .. but he is doing well despite the smokes , am sure your father will be fine . Brother Scott

Scott was recently hospitalized and then provided with intense chemo for four days to kill his leukemic bone marrow. And then eleven days ago (the eleven?) the specialists completed a stem cell transplant.

The oncologist indicated that it would take from 6 to 14 days for the new stem cells to adjust and take over the essential function(s). And Scott just called me to report blood levels have started to stabilize. Most of last year he required blood transfusions at least every two days if not every day to survive. Now his hemacrit, red, and white cells are all close to normal. Platelets still low but looks like this treatment has taken. Bobby used to sing "I need a miracle every day" and looks like today it was Scott's turn on a miracle.

As Phil always gave his 'donor rap' at the end of each show, I want to thank that anonymous donor who provided Scott with his stem cells. Sure this donor had a loved one touched by this cancer and got tested (as did I, but not a good enough match) so he was in the 'bank.' The doctors treated that donor with some meds to supercharge his stem cells so these could be harvested and then sent (across the pond, it sounds like) to save Scott's life.

We have a ways to go, with more isolation in the hospital and then Scott must live within a 10 minute drive from the hospital in case of 'host rejection' by his new cells as they transmorgify his immunity system. But things are looking up here in the middle of America.

Appreciate all the kind words, healing vibes, and hopeful thoughts sent my brother's way.

This morning driving my big brother Scott

to the UNMC for blood work for Acute Myeloid Leukemia. They diagnosed him with this in November of 2023 and had some success with chemo, until this cancer mutated around that treatment. Scott is the best of us, humble, kind, curious, and genuine. Hope to get the cancer subdued enough to proceed to a stem cell transplant in a couple weeks. Please send healing thoughts, prayers, and good vibes this way.
