Yeah, that's an idea but I think the Paypal scheme would be better; it's free and really simple to open an account. Or alternatively, as lamagonzo mentioned; maybe check with johnman if there's a forwarding address and then send cheques/money. Makes it a bit harder for the European folks but opening a bank account seems like more hassle. A Paypal account takes seconds. Also easier to access it or change payment etc. johnman then can transfer the money from Paypal to his bank account in seconds. Of course, johnman would need to have a Paypal account too but i'm sure that wouldn't be a problem for him. Hope your daughter is okay! Or has she made that up so she can stay out and party?!!

to receive checks, donations, etc? I will if no-one else will, but I think that it's better if it's someone in the States. Someone who is trustworthy, of course! I guess the next thing I can try is setting up an online bank-account. That could receive donations, and that Johnman also has access to. Sorry for my delay-have gotten into a bit of a dilemma with my daughter being stuck away from home due to a train strike ********************************** I am not young enough to know everything. whatever you have been doing seems to be working because he is making a so far remarkable recovery from an aneurism. Apparently he is he's up & eating talking & walking. Many of you may know of John from his many circulating audience recordings of the Grateful Dead and other bands. This info comes from the Eurotraders list where John has many friends.

OK then Johnman, just answer one question: your addy!
You don't need a pay-pal account. You can do it "card not present" through an app that sets up through your I-phone. The app. piggy-backs on another, larger merchant. We have to find somebody that we trust for CC#s to go through. Big responsibility, that one. Alternatively, there is the old-fashioned way, which I am more inclined to do. Does Johnman have a forwarding address that we can snail mail contributions to? Are you willing to give it in this thread?

Lots of bad stuff in the world gets lots of attention (or not when it should). But right now in the NE US, lots of folks are still suffering from the effects of Irene, mostly flooding. A number of people lost their lives so please send blessings for their souls. There are many more who have lost all their personal belongings, especially their homes. While "things" can always be replaced, the upset to life for these people, many of them my friends, including many family farmers who have lost their crops and their livestock, has been terrible. Please send your vibes, prayers and thoughts to those sisters and brothers in need in Upstate New York, Vermont, etc as they try to rebuild their lives. If you can spare a little extra then please donate to your favorite charity that can provide assistance to folks up here. Thanks all!

Black Friday upon us again indeed. Sooo sad to hear bout all these people outta work, this normal people included. You will keep your job!! You will keep your job! You will keep your job! Keep the faith bro!. And strong job-keeping vibes to you. Two guys here already offed themselves when their companies failed-the guy from Ratiofarm, and forget what the other one was, so Black Friday ain't so wrong to say nowadays. Something like 100,000 workers dumped out jobless in the past couple of weeks here. IT'S GOTTA STOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ********************************** Don't part with your illusions. When they are gone, you will still exist, but you have ceased to live. my bro was admitted to the hospital today. hes been vomiting all week, and so he went to the doctors. they drew some blood, and when they got done, he passed out for around 5 minutes. our family doc, a great doctor who has an instinct for this type of thing and is one of the best doctors ive known said that my bro should get to the ER, and so we took his advice. they still dont know what is wrong with him, and he is on IV fluids while they are doing tests. PLEASE send some good vibes his way. we are all freaking out and need some calming vibes.Peace, The Kid

Had appendix out may 2007, and was no big deal, really. Use laser scope surgery now, and only have 2 teeny-tiny scars. Felt kinda yukky for bout 3 days after, but after that was quite alright. Big hug for you and bro.********************************** Don't part with your illusions. When they are gone, you will still exist, but you have ceased to live. Samuel Clemens

Hey everyone. Around the time that tickets were about to go on sale for the spring tour, my father's cancer took a turn for the worst. We expect him to leave us any day within the next two weeks. Its been really tough, but its been nice seeing family members coming together. Some I haven't seen in twenty years. The tour is one thing keeping my spirits up. I am going to Shoreline, maybe to the LA Forum. My first time seeing the boys since 1988 (when I was in high school), and I'll be flying in to Cali from Houston. I've been listening to the Dead a lot lately, guess because there's lots of bitter sweet tunes and the band certainly knows about dealing with the loss of a loved one since their early days. Good vibes and prayers to all others going thru hard times.

I think now that our president is Obama, things will get turned around for the better, its not going to happen over night, but with in the next year or two things will get better. Its great to not only have a democrat for president, but a dead-head president. Anyone got any good art work of what Obama mite look like dressed as a dead-head?Phatmoye
