    I've seen some (the bit that's included with the GD Scrapbook). I have to admit, I've always steered away from this one 'cause of Jerry's bad vocal night. I'll give it another shot though on your recommendation. More pro video of this would be nice I guess. Wasn't this show a TV broadcast, or am I mistaken? Pretty sure it was a radio show at least.

    Deadbase says it was a simulcast.
    and Tapers Compendium said 11/24/78 was the 'For Deadheads Only' show.Jerry did have some voice issues and I think that during that era this show got discounted during those days when his voice was soooo on. Considering what his voice sounded like in some of those shows in the 90s (or even some 80s) was like, I would encourage you to give this another listen. On further (pun intended) thought, maybe I should give it another spin as well.

    And I agree with your sentiments about Red Rocks
    Vault Minders-Aren't there any of the later Red Rocks video 'proshots' in the vault that we could have in DVD ? Pretty please? We will not complain or crab, I promise. Just to see an era of the GD at that site would be transportive.

    Have you seen the video from 11/24/78 @ Capitol Theatre?
    I have to say that is one of my very favorite video offerings from 1978.Of course, the video quality is not up to par but it is such a great show. The boys (and Donna) having a wonderful time. The Taping Compendium notes on this show 'Highlights: The entire show'. Haza el-Din is a special guest and when I listened to this on the radio 'back in the day', I loved it. That second set Estimated>Shakedown>jam>drums>Ollin Arageed>Fire>Sugar Magnolia is totally unique. Deadbase XI's account of 11/24/78 by David Greenbrug relates (in part) "Fire segues so seamlessly into Sugar Magnolia that it is easy to miss the transition entirely. It was practically choreographed! In one of the video's finest moments, Jerry, who seems to have instigated the segue, looks over at Weir with a proud stance, as if to say "Hey, wasn't that neat?" while Bob looks back with an utterly shocked espression. I think it took a few seconds for it to register with Bob that they weren't playing Fire anymore!" Anyway I found this video to be a delight even through the sketchy video. 11/24/1978 would be one for Rhino to put out on a DVD. Or give me video of the 1978 Winterland 'From Egypt with Love' shows (pick any of them). Or on second thought give me all of them in sharp DVD resolution. Is the Duke show, when Jerry actually plays drums? Is that the one?

    I could have consulted my taping compendium to see that the video from '78 is quite limited and does not include the July Red Rocks shows. The April Duke show piques my interest a little, but that's a show that doesn't imprint on my brain as much as the Red Rocks shows do.

    If you find a video of RR '78, that would be as good as gold
    If you find a video, please pass it on. I don't recall any video screens at that show in those daze. I vined the audience tapes of Red Rocks in the Vineyard, if you are so inclined.

    St. Paul T-Shirt '75 to '82
    Hey guys, I am looking to get a t shirt for my dad this Christmas. I know he saw the dead live during the years above, specifically at the St. Paul civic center in 76 and 79; the Met center in 75 and at the Metrodome with Bob Dylan in 82 (or at least those are the years i got from someone in the family who should know, they may be off slightly). I found a website that has retro t shirts, but i am trying to find one that he would have seen when he was at the concert. Any help, either to exact t shirts or to pictures of the art that was on the shirts during these concerts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Guys

I am looking for the 5/10/09 recording of the Dead show from earlier this year. I will trade some of my Dead for it. I attended the show, but was too "altered" to remember to purchase CD at the end of the show. If anyone knows where I can get a copy, I will be truly Grateful.

Grateful Dead signed an awesome LP to help out a charity called Rock For Kids, which helps underprivileged and homeless children.I'm a volunteer for the charity and I just wanted to get the word out there about the good work that Grateful Dead is doing. My uncle and his buddies are Original DeadHeads..... One of them has a hat that was thrown to him by Pig at Stony Brook, NY ( oct 1970 ) ..... I am seeking photos from that month that have Pig with that hat on..... From what I've gathered, the hat may have been tossed out to him during the soundcheck prior to the gig on 10.30.1970 but as everyone was in a bit of a dosed mode, and the band was much more accessible in those days, the hat may have been obtained at another moment in that day/week. any links / pix are appreciated.... I need to find this vintage GD shirt that my dad always talks about! It was his favorite but he lost it a long time ago. He says it was simple, has the furthur bus on front with the skeleton and roses hanging out the window, then on the back all it says is "enjoyin' the ride". I have no clue how to find it!

It was a spoof of the Miller Lite ad that read "Lite - A Fine Pilsner Beer" It instead said "Lesh - A Fine Bass Player" Anyone know where I may be able to find this...

For those of you who've been following this forum and wondering if anyone ever hooks up with old friends, well, yes, they do! Yesterday I saw the message that Brent's sister left and I called her. She wasn't home, but I had a nice chat with her husband and look forward to talking to Chrissy soon. I also heard from someone I'd never met who knew Brent. I am in the process of transferring 3000 cassette tapes to CD. As they are transferred, I no longer need the tapes. But I just cannot dump them in the trash. Right now I have aboput 1000 tapes in 2 large boxes in the garage. THey are free for the taking. I live in San Rafael, CA. Send me a note mpie@rccostello.com if you are interested. Best regards, Mark

Just Keeping the music alive I was searching thru my cds, found Jerry Garcia & Friends: Boston Blues. Tracks 1 & 2 WBCN studios, Boston, MA 11/21/70 w/ bob weir and greg allman. Tracks 3-6 Garage Jam SF, CA 1970 w/ john cipollina, pete sears and bob weir. Tracks 7-9 Filmore east, NYC Grateful dead w/duane allman. If anyone can give me any information about this cd would be grateful appreciated. I bought it about 15 years ago in the bootleg bin. Thanxing all in advance... Bob

ARRRRRRRRRRRRGH!! Still no luck on an Atlanta ticket, but I'm not giving up hope yet. I used to hand out miracles like candy, and now I'm hoping to have one passed my way. Of course, this miracle might come with a price (face plus) but I don't care. hi there started collecting in 1970 i am 56 yrs young just a kid in my eyes , however my kid doesn't want the stuff i got so here goes a list some i know are original ! most ! a gift in about 79 i think 1978 blue rose poster NYE with the Riders and Blues brothers we know it's worth alot if real , i remember it was thick . well done it is signed by mouse , #2 The Who Dead poster 76 in oakland i have 5 who 8x10's i took very killer pictures and 2 dead 1 bobby and donna together 1 jammin 8x10 great package deal !!!!!!!! may 82 original greek poster with lighting bolt yellow into skull , 7/10/88 jerry band with bobby solo and brent solo i thought it was "creating a better future" benefit it's a poster , new years eve poster with Bill G dressed as a rainforest god with branford at e the oak col.KILLER NIGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!$#^%#$%@##$ ALL THE POSTERS HAVE BEEN IN FRAME'S FOR along time most 25 years lot of 8x10 i have taken over 22 years of GD i have all the negatives and all on disc's copys done check out Phil's bday civic cross steet left side of park thanks peace steve 916-698-2310 sac ca

I can't tell you if the signature is real, but the pic comes from a rolling stone interview, the last one in 94 I think that date is close. I have a copy of that pic too, Jerry looking quite elderly, banjo in hand. Kinda looks like he is contimplating an old folk tune, cool pic. I'm sure someone connected with this site could steer you to the right place for authenticity.

Hello... I am new to this thread / chat thing so... here it goes... I am searching for the GREATEST GRATEFUL DEAD MSG SHOW OF ALL TIME ! PLEASE HELP ME ! I haven't looked at the Dick's Picks Catalog yet... I'm sure there's one or two in there... but if anybody out there knows of a TRUE ( heavily traded as a bootleg analog tape... and not released officially ) MSG BOOT / SHOW that should be considered... The one you posted is exactly the one, however, I can't find it anywhere. Clicked on the picture hoping for a miracle, but it's just the image-- nothing for sale. Anbody out there on tour (or know someone who is) that could snag one for me and our baby? We'd all be most Grateful.
