My thinking is: secure as many tickets as possible in the hands of True Heads through the lottery, then get busy in a massive swap meet with Californians holding Chi-town tickets who would rather trade and stay close to home. Let's secure those new tickets, folks.

Dear Abby, Less than six hours ago everything was stable. All navigation systems were programmed and functioning perfectly. Compass pointed to Terrapin. Now east and west are all screwed up. Life is all about compromise. This old adage worked beautifully. My gal has been a life-long Cubbie fan. I don't follow baseball until the playoffs begin. She likes the Grateful Dead but is far from being a fanatic (like me). The last big thing on her bucket list is seeing the Cubs at Wrigley Field, she has wanted to do this for over fifty years. I score the Cubs tickets and before she's recovered I hit her with the news that the Dead are going to be there that same weekend. What a surprise. Oh no, it's going to be the last time I can ever see them. I now have a green light to search for tickets almost no matter what the cost. She still thinks the main reason for going to Chicago is to see the Cubs. Small price to pay, I think.

Today was such a good day I could hardly contain it.
