Week of December 7-13, 2020
Welcome back to the Tapers’ Section, where this week we have Grateful Dead music from 1976, 1987, and 1988.
Our first selection this week is from 6/12/76 at the Boston Music Hall, the fourth night of a four night run, the Dead’s first East Coast shows in almost two years, since 8/4/74 at Roosevelt Stadium. From this mighty fine show, we have Comes A Time, Dancing In The Street> Jam> Around And Around, Sugar Magnolia>US Blues>Sunshine Daydream.
Next is the start of the second set from 6/13/87, from the Dead’s final run at Ventura County Fairgrounds, featuring Shakedown Street; Saint Of Circumstance> Ship Of Fools ; Estimated Prophet > Eyes Of The World.
Lastly this week, from a year later on 6/17/88 in Bloomington, MN, we have the bulk of the first set, featuring New Minglewood Blues ; Row Jimmy ; Far From Me ; When I Paint My Masterpiece ; Althea ; Victim Or The Crime. This is the first Grateful Dead performance of Victim Or The Crime.
