Welcome back to the Tapers’ Section, where this week we’ll check out some Grateful Dead music from 1980, 1988, and 1991.
Our first selection this week is from 12/27/80 at the Oakland Auditorium Arena, where we have the start of the show featuring Feel Like A Stranger; Sugaree > New Minglewood Blues; Loser.
From eight years later, on 12/28/88 also in Oakland but at the much larger Oakland Coliseum Arena, we have the start of the second set, featuring China Cat Sunflower > I Know You Rider ; Estimated Prophet > He's Gone.
Lastly this week is the first set of the Fall Tour 1991 opening show on 9/4/91 in Richfield, OH, featuring Let The Good Times Roll; Jack Straw ; Jack-A-Roe ; Walkin' Blues ; Friend Of The Devil ; Black Throated Wind ; Tennessee Jed ; When I Paint My Masterpiece ; Cold Rain And Snow ; The Promised Land.
