Grateful Dead drummer Bill Kreutzmann’s latest musical project is 7 Walkers. He and the entire group including Papa Mali, George Porter Jr and Matt Hubbard stop by the Grateful Dead Channel studios to perform live and chat with host Gary Lambert during this special 1-hour broadcast! Airs Monday, January 24 at 3pm ET, with encore broadcasts on January 26 at 9am ET, January 28 at 1am ET, January 29 at 5pm ET and January 30 at 10am ET. One of the truly pleasant surprises of 2010 has been the emergence of 7 Walkers, the eclectic quartet that features guitarist/singer/songwriter Papa Mali (a.k.a. Malcolm Welbourne), good ol’ Bill Kreutzmann on drums, Matt Hubbard on keys, harmonica and trombone, and N’awlins funk ’n’ rock legend George Porter Jr. on bass. The group has been getting people boppin’ and groovin’ at clubs and on the jam band festival circuit for much of the year, and now everyone can enjoy their fine, self-titled first album, which came out in early November on Response Records.
Talk about a Ripple in still water! Jam Cruise 9 sets sail January 4-9, 2011 from Ft Lauderdale, FL with port stops in Roatan, Honduras and Costa Maya, Mexico and this event is on course to hit sonic depths that have never been reached before!
