The Mickey Hart Band’s just-released album, Mysterium Tremendum, is a musical marvel and a sonic masterpiece. Over the course of 12 songs stretching to about 74 minutes, the eight-piece band, together in this form less than a year, sounds like old pros who have been playing together for ages.
The Mickey Hart Band have released their first single, "Slow Joe Rain", off of Mysterium Tremendum, due out April 10th. Fans can download the track for FREE at Mickeyhart.net/download. This is the first taste the world gets to hear of Hart sonifying the Universe and putting it down on record with his new band. Tim Hockenberry delivers Robert Hunter's lyrics with intensity on this scorching hot burner singing, "If you can't fix a busted heart, don't try and save the earth, I'm Slow Joe Rain".
The Mickey Hart Band has added new "Above the Clouds" tour dates in May in support of Hart's forthcoming album, Mysterium Tremendum, due out April 10th, 2012. The band also announced earlier this week that they will be performing at the All Good Music Festival in Thornville, OH on July 22.
