I have a one off, 2 colour vinyl pressing of this album and am looking into its value. It was pressed in the late 70’s in Malton Ontario Canada at Capitol records. The audio quality is not the greatest, but I cannot find anywhere that it was pressed in 2 colours.
Anyone with interest please reply and I'll send a photo.

Sorry, but how can I post a story, Thanks

Does anyone recall the evening in the early to mid 70’s that the Hells Angels took over Bojangles bar Bay Ridge NY and Jerry Garcia, Bob Wier and Phil Lesh strummed their guitars and singing in the backroom sitting on chairs with angels standing around. It was a birthday party for Jerry. All the alcohol was on the bar with tubs of beer set about. I was not an invite but walked in thru the bar grabbing a beer as I moved to the back room to listen, after a half hour of me enjoying this moment, an Angel tapped me on the shoulder politely asked if I would finish my beer and leave, it took me about 15-20 min. to finish and reluctantly leave. Bojangles also had outstanding burgers on english muffins.

    Hi everyone!

I placed a few orders for Box sets on the dead.net site, one of them is now one month overdue (No shipping info for an item marked available)
Tried emailing dead@wmgcustomerservice.com three times in the last 2+ weeks, without any answer.
Does anyone have an idea what to do?

Thank you for the warm welcome to the updated Dead.net! It's great to hear that familiar aspects of the site are still intact, albeit with some minor changes in location. For newcomers, the invitation to explore and make oneself at home is much appreciated.
The mentioned possibilities, such as tape trading (both digital and otherwise), In Search Of for tickets, merchandise, and music, the Ride Board as a useful touring resource, and All About My Band for discussing one's own musical projects, offer exciting avenues for engagement.
If any navigational assistance is required, reaching out through a post or a private message to "marye" is encouraged, as the team is ready to provide support.

Hey Marye. Can't sleep so I thought I'd see if anyone else was on chat but it won't let me in. I'm logged into the site (obviously) but when I go to dead.net/chat the top right goes from my avatar to the silhouette and the page says I must be logged in to use Chat. If I click the silhouette, it takes me to my page (no re-login needed), but if I go again to the chat URL, it goes back to not logged in.

Apparently all I need to is write this and <ctrl>F5 on the chat page, and I'm in! Long strange trip.

Peace,

-Dave

Mary,

Initially this was about chat not working, but I cleaned my cache and now it appears to be working so all is good.

Oh, and if you look in this forum, there appear to be a bunch of spam in here now.

Peace,

So, how hard is it to post stub and show photos in the show archive?
Thanks!

I would post them, or links to them, in the comments for the particular show.

Can't find my stories i wrote about shows I was at.
All I can find is the first paragraph of my story about 2/2/69 Minneapolis Labor Temple.
Did I do something wrong? Is all that server space too expensive to hold all the gigabytes of memories?

The new site looks legit, I love design, icons and color selection. ALso, search button works really well, I can find what I need in a matter of seconds.

Only received 1 folder for 89’ show. Sounds great! But files are not 192/24FLAC and missing all other shows? I’ve emailed and waiting to hear back. Anyone else have problems?

Hi, I’m new to the site. Looks great, and I can’t wait to explore more. I have a question - are we allowed to post Grateful Dead items for sale on this page, and if so, what section? I have a Fisher Grateful Dead Mountain bike I would like to sell. Thanks in advance!

Uh, so, this Dekalb '77 show is somewhat legendary, and I read Dave's intro to it, and listened to Jack Straw with an open mind. As a Deadhead since the early mid-70's, who eventually migrated, landed, live, procreated in the promised land, aka Bay Area, and greater NorCal, I feel as though I have a pretty fair grasp of what an amazing GD performance entails, as I've seen these guys do their thing live around 300 times, with dozens of other Jerry Band, and various other related band member side shows under my belt, as well. This version of J Straw was pretty good, a couple of clunkers aside, and, I would certainly not judge the rest of the show from that fact, as I know that...pretty good can quickly turn amazing, but...I guess I'll have to listen to the entire tape of the show again, something not done in years. By comparison, the J Straw from New Haven Coliseum from May of that same year, a show which i attended, in my opinion included one of the greatest versions of this epic Bobby tune ever performed or recorded. Of course it was eventually released as part of Dick's Picks 25, which was very satisfying, and provided somewhat belated validation to the opinions of myself and friends that this was also an epic performance that ranks high in the pantheon of killer shows...including the many NYE shows, Greek and Warfield and Oakland Auditorium, and other shows I've seen from AK to MA. Parts of this show are, quite simply, some of the greatest music i've ever seen, and I've pretty much seen most great rock, blues, jazz artists who have performed live since...the mid-70's. I think a quick listening/comparison of...the two Jack Straws is warranted. I plan on playing both shows, back-to-back for comparison, and, while this is not a contest, I am interested in the sound, interplay/improvisational quality, and...the purity and quality of the individual songs, and how the whole coalesces. Hey, what better way to spend a rainy Winter Saturday afternoon. Don' answer that.
As to the new site...So I'm having a little trouble figuring out where I should'a directed this 2-cents worth of opinion, as it just isn't clear what forum/forums pertain to what, or if there is a general comment forum, or...i dunno.
I don't get to shows anymore(D&Co), though have made it to TxRoads a couple years ago to see Phil+ outside...a great venue! But...there is a lot of amazing, jamming, heartfelt music in r&r, blues, country/swing coming out'a NorCal these days, and...I often hear the influence of the solid ground and vast body of improvisational work "the boys"(sorry DJ) have laid down and pioneered for the past 50+ years. Hopefully, somewhere JG can hear, and is smiling. In that sense...The Dead will truly never die. Absolutely part of the collective musical cultural consciousness of their time, into the future. Yip.

Great $0.02 - Enjoyable history lesson. I've had both those shows on tape for a quarter-century now... will have to pull them out to do the comparison of Jack Straws. Thanks!

Just received the 15 CD Liberty box set in Australia. The sound quality and the music are amazingly clear and absorbing. And thanks also for the streamed One More Saturday Night. That was my first experience of Dead & Co with John, Jeff and Otiel. The band sounds wonderful, and the DeadHead comments very welcoming. Incredibly generous and community building when we all need it. Thanks so much.

I'm a new member to this site but a dead fan since the late 60s. The first concert I attended was May 9, 1970 at the Cage at Worcester Polytech. I sat on the oval track above the band, our feet dangling near their heads. I went out and bought beer for the band at the first break and came back to the gym and the audience was down to 75. Second set went on for hours and they rocked. Very intimate. Friend of the Devil and Deep Elam blues were special. Next time I saw them was their long sound check at Watkins Glenn.

Hi all!

I hope you are all enjoying a peaceful day or night depending on your longitude. I am very lost and I’m hoping a kind soul can guide my walk. I want to find my American Beauty. I’ve splashed many ripples as I have traveled alone. Gratefully I’ve seen much within this box of rain but my attic craves my sugar magnolia.

I cannot tell friend from devil. I do not even know if I am asking correctly or if I can even ask... but if you have a warrant, I guess your gonna come in. So Hey! Can any one honestly help me because I will keep truckin. Enjoy all you can!
J.

Hi MaryE!
I'm a longtime Deadhead (since 1968), and I am a collector of the Dead's music. I love physical media (CDs DVDs, etc.), and I would love to see a physical release of the wonderful release of The Angel's Share.
Is there any possible chance of this? I'm an old guy, and not too interested in streaming. I'd love a chance to own this on CD. Fingers crossed!
Thanks for listening!

Well, I try to keep in touch! So many roads I have already taken that I loved and hopefully many more in these challenging times. Bummed all the shows I marked were lost in the remodel, the up grades means a lot of things are lost. Well, I guess I will go through the old passes and tickets again, oh the agony!!! I attended my faire share and you know I love the Oregon Country Fair too. Have a fabulous day and keep on trucking brothers and sisters, it is not easy and I feel so lonely, but our spirits are strong and we will get by, we will survive. Sending lots of love to you and hoping I will keep feeling yours.
