Week of November 4-10, 2019
Welcome back to the Tapers’ Section, where this week we have Grateful Dead music from 1974, 1982, and 1984.
Our first selection from 7/25/74 in Chicago features Dark Star > Stella Blue, including a very cool, familiar melody toward the end of Dark Star.
Next is some second set music from the middle night of a three night run at Red Rocks in Morrison, CO, where we have Althea; Let It Grow> He's Gone> Truckin', including a couple of more commonly first set songs in Althea and Let It Grow.
Our final selection this week is from 7/21/84 at Ventura County Fairgrounds, where we have the entire first set, featuring Shakedown Street; Little Red Rooster; Althea; Me And My Uncle> Mexicali Blues ; China Cat Sunflower> I Know You Rider; Looks Like Rain; Might As Well, including a very cool placement of China>Rider.
Be sure to stop in next week for more music from the vault.
