    UPDATED: 7Walkers Fall Tour

    Look for the the 7 Walkers, featuring Bill Kreutzmann, guitarist Papa Mali, multi-instrumentalist Matt Hubbard (Willie Nelson, Fastball), and legendary New Orleans bass man George Porter Jr. (The Meters, Funky Meters) in a city near you this Fall. Starting with three shows in New York, including a two-night stand at City Winery on September 2 & 3, the band will make its way to Colorado before swinging back through the South and wrapping up the tour at Durham, NC's Carolina Theatre on October 23. With George Porter Jr. also on a reunion tour with The Meters this fall, look for the 7 Walkers Fall Tour to alternate bass players between shows, with select performances featuring Dirty Dozen Brass Band founder and sousaphone player Kirk Joseph Jr., and Tea Leaf Green's bassist Reed Mathis (who also appears on the 7 Walkers' album).

    Did they rock the Gothic last night. Kirk Joseph on the sousaphone was totally cool. Jonapi - was it you who claimed 7 Walkers is the best band out there? It is difficult to argue against that statement. Billy is taking the music in every cosmic direction, far out stuff. Would love to make the 7 hour drive to Telluride .... "I won't take your life won't even take a limb just unload my shotgun and take a little skin"

    anytime you fancy Japan guys....
    I saw the footage of those guys at Nedfest and it sounded great! Kyle looks a real good fit.Only thing was i thought Kimock looked a bit our of sync during "Eyes..."; a little disjointed, like he wasn't sure what he wanted to do; the slide intonation odd. which is unusual for him. or maybe it was just me...

    I'm kind of bummed George Porter won't be in the line up. Kreutzman, Kimock, Porter and Hollingsworth this past weekend in Nederland rocked the freaking house!!! I'd love to see those cats go on a tour together, maybe take Keller with them... "I won't take your life won't even take a limb just unload my shotgun and take a little skin"
