    Warren Zevon

GD toured with him at some point. I think he opened for them in Boulder in 1980. Nine Werewolves of London in 1978 and I may be biased here but the last one 7-8-78 is the best one. Bob wore a wolf mask.

    Werewolves..are not just for Halloween

Thanks Dave, I had a sporadically crappy set of '78 tapes and so didn't listen much. I never knew Werewolves was in the rotation outside of the Halloweens in the 80's. I'll be in thge archive in 78 for a while now. Weir said they usually achived liftoff so it'll be good. Thanks for these clips, love this section.

Week of February 26-March 3, 2024

Welcome back to the Tapers’ Section, where this week we have Grateful Dead music from 1974, 1977, and 1978.

Our first selection this week is from 6/30/74 in Springfield, the final night of the Dead’s first east coast tour featuring the Wall of Sound, where we have this sequence of Playing In The Band>Uncle John's Band>Playing In The Band.

Next is the start of the second set from the monumental show on 5/9/77 in Buffalo, with Bertha> Good Lovin' ; Ship Of Fools; Estimated Prophet> The Other One. This is the first version of Estimated Prophet that segued into another song.

Lastly this week is the end of the show from 4/21/78 in Lexington, KY, where we have Jam > Stella Blue>Truckin'> Playing In The Band, Werewolves Of London.

Be sure to stop by next week for more music from the vault.
