Nevilles came out during
Nevilles came out during drums and stayed through the second set.
The Nevilles were fantastic!
The Nevilles were fantastic! Remeber the thunder and lightning during drums! Great show!
My first show.
We almost didn't make it through the intense thunder storms on the way there, and had to pull over several times. The band took a 10-15 minute break between When I Paint My Masterpiece and Tennessee Jed, as securtity asked everyone to leave the field area and seek shelter inside the staduim until the lighting passed.
It was quite an experience.
Everything from Uncle John's Band through Knocking On Heaven's Door was fantastic. The jam between Uncle John and Drums is on the Infrared Roses album as the Post-Modern Highrise Table Top Stomp track (w/Willie Green III).
I remember nature's light
I remember nature's light show quite well. I took a friend to his first show that. I was worried that he'd wnat to leave because of the rain, so I spent half the afternoon denying it would happen. As the show started, I admitted "it's going to rain." He laughed and said "It's going to pour." Neither of us cared though.
We were right next to the soundboard. No one made any serious effort to get us off the field. And the show was amazing! Only time I actually saw The Nevilles join the boys on stage.
This was a good show.
This was a good show. Nevilles were cool. Somebody clipped the clutch cable on my bike and I was stranded in Jersey for two days getting the bike fixed. Just awful. Jersey scenes pretty much represented the worst possible scenario.
bright lightning lit up stadium during "tennessee jed"
if you listen to the tapes you can hear the crowd cheering during one of the tennessee jed instrumental parts...it kicked the band into fourth gear...absolutely amazing
There was a huge lightning
There was a huge lightning flash during music right after Bobby sang peels of thunder line. Very fun show the best time I ever had inside Giants stadium
If the Thunder Don't Get Ya...
DKNJ: The only things I remember from this show are "Jack-A-Roe", the crazy ass weather, and seeing a sandal float by in the front row of the lower tier. I think Jerry was wearing a black Polo shirt, too.
Sloppy Show
This was good fun and the set list looks great on paper. But between the rain and so many people crowding the florr, the show seemed distant. The tape also proves that the music was a bit sloppy - strange in a way coinsidering how hot this tour was in general. I also remember the Neville Brothers popping out at the end of the second set. Security guard on floor was passing around a big fattie. No joke. This is also the only show out of the 25+ I attended that I do not have a ticket stub for as it simply disintegarted in the downpour...

Bad Storm
Great show..............Bad storm!! End of 1set it started pouring.........It came down by the buckets full. I was on the field and they had some plastic covering it......Soooooooooo.........that made it like a pool...I was standing in 4 inch's of water, people were playing slip and slid..........it was funny.
Then during intermision.........Someone came out on the stage (road manager?) and said......"ok people, a tornado was seen just 7 miles from here and with all this lighting were telling everyone to PLEASE GET OF THE FIELD, don't panic....SEEK SHELTER AND GET OFF THE FEILD!!
Ok,,,,,,,,,,and here I am standing in 4 inch's of water......GREAT!!
I did not move and decided that if lighting hit the feild of water, I would just jump a few inch's above it..............lol
Nice foolish jam before Foolish Heart.........Just another light was in favor of all the lighting...........nicely done Brent.
The LONGEST drum solo that I ever been to. Iko was fucking HOT!!! The whole show, even with the storm was fucking HOT!!
Downpour during Music
I had a field ticket, but found my way behind the stage. I remember that it rained so hard during Music, the band was cooking so hard, it was fantastic dancing and getting pelted with big fat raindrops, lightning flashing around. Then the big surprise, Morning Dew again! With the Nevilles no less. The tapes don't do this justice, just because the elements were such a big part of the experience. I kept going back to Giants Stadium too, but never enjoyed it as much as these two shows. Maybe it needed to rain more.

This show was a great time.
This show was a great time. I remember it was so hot, we welcomed the rain. ...but the security guards (yellow meanies) were serious jerks. This was the first time I heard Foolish Heart. I wasn't sure what to make of it. I asked the guy in front of me what the song was... he said Ripple :-)Morning Dew was awesome. The rain had cleared and the vibe was intense. Anyone remember the low flying jets over the stadium during that tune? Wow. I hope I didn't imagine them!
Wet also...
I attended this show with the porpoise who on 6-28-07 commented on this show. A good time was had by all.

Unforgettable Show
My brother Chris and I created a banner with a skeleton on a lounge chair drinking from a martini glass, basking in the light.
The banner read, 'Shine the Light on Me'...
We hung it behind the soundboard/taping section on the fencing.
It was kinda strange because there was this raging show going on all around us and the area that we hung our banner became this meditation area, with people just chilling out on the damp ground.
Good times
My 1st show...
Still have the t-shirt...
I finally "got it" later that year after several more shows and never stopped...even after they did.

feed your face
does anyone remember the steal your face vw van that was serving up hundreds of free grilled cheese sandwiches after the show.
lightning
Not only did Jerry sing you know you bound to wind up wet ,the lightning perfectly timed when Bobby sang the women laughed and children screamed,we all did from the bolt that cracked just then.I think my highlight this night was after the downpour and set break, the foolishheart was kinda dreamy.
Fantastic Hot Summer Cloudburst
The lightening and thunder and rain were actually fun as it was such a hot day and the rain was warm and powerful. I remember as the upper decks filled with water, huge rivers of brown water were cascading down on the people in the lower tiers who were dancing and reveling in it! What a blast! Everyone got totally drenched.
Raining hard
During Tennessee Jed and it was a blast. I remember I was smiling smiling smiling :))
Could not Get a Ticket
It was a Monday morning and I was laid up for the summer with a broken ankle, my friend called around noon and said lets go to Giants and see if we can scalp some tickets. No tickets but dropped in the lot and decided to head back to LI to drink at our local watering hole. The rain storm we drove through on the BQE was epic and we were happy to be dry and alive drinking later that night. Friends showed up later and said the music never was awesome, Hershey esc.
Off for RFK on Wednesday morning with tickets and the fun continued this summer at the Greeks, the Who do Tommy at LA Coliseum and JGB/Weir and Wassermann at Nassau in early September.
This and Wooster 87 where the only two times I showed up at a show and could not find a ticket.
