Welcome back to the Tapers' Section, where this week we have music from 1972, 1983 and 1985.
Our first selection is from 11/22/72 in Austin, TX, where we have a big batch of first set Dead, featuring Sugaree ; Mexicali Blues ; Loser ; Black Throated Wind ; China Cat Sunflower > I Know You Rider ; Beat It On Down The Line ; Candyman; El Paso ; Bird Song ; Playing In The Band ; Casey Jones. Please note that the opener of her sequence, Sugaree, has some big sound problems, but otherwise this is a typically hot, and great-sounding, Fall 1972 show.
Next is the start of the second set from 10/17/83 in lake Placid, NY, featuring Touch Of Grey, Samson and Delilah, To Lay Me Down, Man Smart, Terrapin Station, including a rare second set To Lay Me Down.
Lastly this week is the entire first set of the 11/7/85 at the penultimate Grateful Dead show at the Rochester War Memorial, featuring Dancing In The Street ; Dire Wolf ; C C Rider ; Loser ; Mama Tried > Mexicali Blues ; Cumberland Blues ; Beat It On Down The Line ; Deal.
Be sure to join us here next week for more tunes from the vault, and as always, feel free to write to us at the email address below.
