Winterland October 1974
Hello friends,
Today I offer up another vine I hope you all will enjoy. This is a five night stand at Winterland in 1974. It is my understanding that these shows provided the tracks for the live album “Steal Your Face.” With that in mind, let me say this - I already own 'Steal Your Face', both on vinyl and on CD. IMHO, it would show appropriate support for a band that is so generous with their copyrighted material for parties interested in these shows to buy/already own a copy of 'Steal Your Face' as well.

Heard back from LIG71, he never received the vine...
...and he said he sent his address "ages ago, and never heard back". He's going to try to contact wtractor, but I've got a bad feeling about this one.

I admit it. I am addicted to this music. I am not in denial. I don't plan on getting any help or therapy, and I don't plan on going to rehab either.
I hope it keeps growing

...so you guys just chill for a bit. It's a 17 CD vine w/no DVD so be patient for a little while. Go do something randomly nice in the meantime.

...because I have received the DVDs for the Winterland Oct. 74 vine today. I'll make a copy to send to LIG71 in France and send the originals on up to Free Idea, try to avoid that month-long "across the Big Water and back" delay.

Yes, it is currently on flac on DVDs....
Sorry, thought the reseeding w/DVDs was clear. The CDs disappeared at wtractor, and copying seventeen CDs for the reseed was a lot to ask of the reseeder. E.D.A., do you have a DVD player? Not even a burner, just a player. You can copy the flac files to your hard drive and decompress/burn to CDs as easily as copying CDs in the first place.
If not, perhaps one of the guys ahead of you on the list will have the time/resources to decompress the flac files to *.wav. I'm kinda fully committed with some other things.

I am planning to unpack the DVD onto 17 CD'swhen it arrives here. I will post if successful.

Hopefully you'll have them by the weekend. They may unpack to more than seventeen CDs, looks like there's some extra little goodies in there to fill up the discs.

The Winterland Oct. '74 reseed DVDs are on the way to free idea. I've made a separate copy to send to LIG71, will get it heading overseas tomorrow - he can just keep that copy. Somebody should let Exploratory Data Analysis know that the vine will be deflac'd by free idea, so he can sign back up.

I was gonna DVD>CD, but leave in flac form

My plan is to unpack the DVD's to CD's, but leave them in flac form,
not convert to "wav". I hate compressing music, and don't know if I
have the time to commit to conversion. When the DVD to CD unpack
occurs, I will let EDA know. in case he wants back in.
If I have these terms all mixed up, let me know, this is my present
understanding of things.

Due to some recent good info, thank you, I am going to beconverting to "wav" format when I transfer from DVD's to CD's.
So, for any one who was wondering, this WILL be coming to you
on CD's in "wav" format. Sorry for any confusion I have caused,
I am a steep learning curve. :)
